I've taken correspondence courses in creative writing (non-fiction and fiction) and I'll be graduating next year from Anne Arundel Community College with an Associate's Degree in Transfer Studies with a concentration in gender and sexuality studies. I plan to transfer to UMBC in January of '19. There, I'll earn a Bachelor's Degree in English with a concentration in literature and a minor in professional writing. I really know how to embellish and I'm very detail oriented. I don't waste time thinking if a thought, sentence, or idea works. If it doesn't sound right, I delete it. I like to get as much quality work done as possible in a single setting. I'm disciplined enough to start, schedule, and finish work on my own.
I have a full time job right now in retail and to be honest, I'm tired of it. I need a change and I've noticed that I work best alone.
When I'm given a task or set of tasks you can have confidence in knowing that I'll finish them accordingly. I love to make lists of tasks and check them all off as I get them done. I'm very organized, a great thinker and problem-solver. I actually enjoy doing research too. I've always loved learning so researching comes naturally to me.
I'm constantly honing my craft of creative writing, which is why I love proofreading. I've recently found that this was a hidden talent of mine. I'm working on a story with a friend of mine. He invited me on to write dialogue and to revise. He has not been disappointed. I truly enjoy reading what others have written and finding little (or big) ways to improve upon it. I enjoy the back-and-forth I have with people in finding new ideas, ways of improvement, and better sentence structure to articulate thoughts and ideas better.
I like my work to be succinct. I'm a very straightforward person - personally and professionally. I don't like sugar-coating because it's a waste of time, but that doesn't mean I'm tactless. I'm fully aware of other people's thoughts, ideas, and feelings and will act accordingly.
I've been told I'm very easy to talk to and, indeed, all of my friends come to me for advice because I'm very trustworthy. Trustworthiness, honesty, adaptability, reliability, and relatability are some of my best qualities. I'm also very friendly, easy-going and easy to get along with. I like a certain amount of fun and laughter as I work too, along with sharing ideas and challenging myself to present my very best work.
