It's been said that anyone who can read can write.
But this statement fails to address the issue of writing well. For example, the instructions on the back of a toothpaste tube are written, but you'd hardly curl up with a good tube of toothpaste for pleasure reading.
The difference between writing and writing well is vitally important in the professional sphere and that's why I'm passionate about putting an engaging, creative spin on professional and academic writing.
Having worked as a writing tutor, an office manager, and spent years studying English literature, I'd like to think I have a unique handle on what constitutes engaging and intelligent writing: writing that not only clearly communicates information but keeps readers from falling asleep.
My background includes experience in writing and editing that includes ad copy, content development, blogging, and academic writing. I also have 4 graduate degrees concentrated in English Literature, Psychology, and Film Studies.
I also have previous experience working as a content developer for Quick Read books.
In this capacity, my job was to read nonfiction texts and curate unique summaries of popular books so that busy readers could get the text's key nuggets of information in a clear and efficient manner.
In addition to this experience, I also love lifestyle blogging and I have 9 years of experience writing about topics that range from parenting to mental health to relationships! My other experience includes writing ad copy for wineries, bouncy house rental companies, and social media.
My published work can be found in Better Help, Very Well Mind, Vestd, Workyard, Student Minds and UNICEF Market, to name a few.
My extensive experience with writing and editing has shown me that proofreading is an essential component of any well-written article. And thanks to my editorial experience, I know how to read between the lines and pick up on little details that need to be fine-tuned, tweaked, or removed altogether for the sake of a well-crafted piece.
