Well-versed in dealing with the business community and government in both UK and Egypt, as well as nurturing partnerships with multiple stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. Have over seven years of experience in various departments at various trade promotion agencies.
I worked as deputy head of the Institutional Communication and Public Relations Unit, where I had the chance to capitalize on my training and experience working with governmental and private organizations to nurture current partnerships and engage with other institutions for new ones. Performing at this level provided me with the required political sensitivity to manage relations with multiple stakeholders of national and foreign parties in a number of projects.
As Senior Trade Adviser at DIT, I am responsible for developing and managing all Government and Private Sector partnerships related to healthcare and education. I am also responsible for identifying potential opportunities to mobilize direct investments from UK with a target of 5 million pounds sterling, in addition to achieving a total of 20 million pounds sterling worth of export wins for UK businesses in said sectors.
In addition, I manage the partnerships between DIT and the largest British multinationals operating in Egypt in the fields of healthcare and education, such as Astrazeneca, GSK, Pearson and Cambridge. Periodically, I participate in drafting talking points on healthcare and education for the Prime Minister during his communications with the Egyptian government, all the way to Her Majesty’s Ambassador, as well as provide status reports on the progress of strategic opportunities.
Currently, I am steering the partnership between the Egyptian Ministry of Health and UK’s Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCSENG) to draft a Project Initiation Document (PID) of a 4.7-million-pound sterling project to afford accreditation to the Egyptian fellowship program. Also, I am introducing local potential investors to Kings College Hospital to support them with their intended project in Egypt.
Moreover, I work collaboratively with other Foreign Common Wealth and Development Office (FCDO) teams within the embassy that focus on education and healthcare from a developmental perspective, such as Chevening, the Prosperity Fund Program and the British Council, in addition to a number of international organizations and UN agencies such as UNICEF, the World Bank and ILO.
