Allison Vandersanden

I am a freelance editor and writer holding an undergraduate degree in English literature, and a post-graduate certificate in publishing, with a specialization in editorial.

Some highlights of my experience include:

• Startup of a freelance editing business, offering manuscript consultation, substantive, line, and copy editing services to both novice and published authors in Canada, America and Italy.
• Several years as an acquisitions editor for Novelty Magazine.
• Published short fiction, travel writing, personal essays, interviews, news and book reviews in international publications such as Passion Passport, Hostelling International, Explore Magazine, and Florence News.
• University level instruction: design and execution of an English course for first, second and third year students at the Rome University of Fine Arts.
• Coordinating literary events such as author talks, writing workshops, and publishing seminars in both Canada and Italy.
• Co-founding a flash fiction contest, writers group, and reading series.
