Duties:
- The reason for Zambeef’s interest in my CV was that it fitted
exactly the profile that they were looking for. They needed a
person that could do the same as what I did at Intercape. A
systems driven, organised person that could implement processes
and correct stock holding and stock integrity, clean up and lift the
stores to a new level.

INTERCAPE FERREIRA MAINLINER (October 2014 – December 2018)
Senior Technical Buyer/ Parts Manager
Duties:
- The initial instruction was for a total revamp of the stores
including lay out, location, bin locations and processes. An
overhaul of staff structures was also called for.
The store was moved to a larger area and equipped with proper
shelving. All scrap was removed and stock integrity re-established.
New bin locations allocated. Qualified staff moved into correct
positions and poor performing staff managed up or out. Proper
systems and processes introduced with good document flow.
Stock holding was reassessed and a decision was made to drop
the value of own stock and introduce consignment stock from
major suppliers. Apart from the obvious drop in stock holding
there was also a great improvement in availability and shorter
stock taking time. Suppliers are bound to a once weekly stock
count by the staff of the supplier.
The procurement system was adapted to allow for tracking of
stock movement, etc. It has become virtually paperless.
OEM electronic parts catalogues and service manuals added to the
buyer’s systems.
