Alicia Yu

I am a passionate and detail-oriented software developer with a background in neuroscience, healthcare, biopharmaceuticals, and e-commerce, bringing a unique perspective to problem-solving and user-centered design. My journey into software development was driven by a deep interest in technology’s ability to enhance efficiency, improve experiences, and create meaningful impact. With a strong foundation in both backend and frontend development, I enjoy building applications that are not only functional but also intuitive and user-friendly.

My experience includes developing full-stack applications using Flask, React, and SQLAlchemy, with a focus on RESTful API design, authentication, and database optimization. I have worked extensively with Flask-RESTful to create scalable APIs, implemented secure authentication systems using Flask Bcrypt and designed efficient database relationships to handle complex business logic. On the frontend, I leverage React with Semantic UI and Formik to create interactive and responsive user interfaces, ensuring seamless user experiences.

My diverse background has instilled in me a strong analytical mindset and a passion for understanding user behavior, which translates into designing software solutions that prioritize usability and accessibility. I thrive in environments that encourage learning and innovation, and I am always eager to take on new challenges that push my technical and problem-solving skills further.

Outside of coding, I enjoy fostering dogs, cooking/baking, and traveling! I am excited about the opportunity to contribute my skills and enthusiasm to a project/company that values impact-driven technology, and I look forward to making meaningful contributions in my next role.
