Dear State Grantee Dental Director, Oral Health Program Manager and National Partners,
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Division of Oral Health (DOH) invites you and your staff to attend the DP18-1810/11 Grantee Closeout Meeting at the CDC Global Communications Center (GCC) on October 3-5, 2023, in Atlanta, Georgia. This meeting brings to a closure a period marked by changes, with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic being a central factor. The Road Ahead: Detours to Success is the theme and charts the course for the road ahead and the needed changes for success.
As a required attendee for this final meeting, you and your staff will have an opportunity to learn about successful and challenging cooperative agreement activities, performance measures outcomes, lessons learned, and what the future holds. You’ll have breakout sessions, live demonstrations, and opportunities to meet and talk with your colleagues from the states, national partner organizations, guests, and CDC DOH staff. Below you will find information related to planning your travel to Atlanta.
Meeting Location – The 2023 DOH Grantee Closeout Meeting will be held at the CDC Roybal Campus, in the Global Communications Center at 1600 Clifton Road, N.E., Atlanta, GA 30333.
Hotel Reservations – A block of rooms is reserved at the Courtyard Marriott Atlanta Decatur Downtown/Emory Hotel at 130 Clairemont Avenue, Decatur, Georgia 30030. Each guest must make their reservation. Book your group rate for CDC Room Block (October 2023) by clicking on the blue text link or by calling- and identify as an October 2023 CDC Room Block member. The room block will close Friday, September 8. You will receive the government rate of $163.00 per night, plus tax. The hotel shuttle service will provide daily transportation to and from the CDC Roybal Campus.
Airline Reservations – Please make airline reservations to arrive in Atlanta on Monday, October 2, 2023. Return flights should depart after 3:00 pm on Thursday, October 5, 2023, to ensure full participation at the Grantee Closeout Meeting. Component Two recipients will leave on Friday morning, October 6, 2023.
Visitor’s Badge – All visitors must always wear a CDC Visitor’s Badge on any CDC campus. Participants cannot gain access to the CDC campus without a badge, and CDC security will not process a visitor’s badge on-site. To obtain a CDC Visitor’s Badge, you must send the following information for a badge via email to Alexandra Marshall at-no later than August 1, 2023:

Meeting Agenda – The final agenda will be sent to all participants when available. The 2023 DOH Grantee Closeout Meeting will begin daily at 9:00 am and conclude at 5:00 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday, October 5, the meeting will end at 12:15 pm for attendees except for Component Two states. Please send agenda comments or suggestions to your project officer.
