Earlier walking sticks with sensors were developed for blinds for their free walk. But it is a difficulty to hold the stick & walk in busy traffic. So in this project a belt with IR sensors & an ultrasound sensor is used as an aid for the blinds. The person can wear this belt & can navigate independently. The sensors will detect the obstacles & with respect to that the motors will vibrate which gives the indication of obstacles. It also have a GPS module with an earphone. GPS system will give the indication of the nearby locations like hospital , school bus stop etc through ear phone . Over all this blind mobility aid will make the life of the visually impaired society easier. Main Project: ROBO WHEELCHAIR Duration: 6 months, Team-size:5 Description: The primary aim of this project is to help and aged patients through the hospitals. Earlier ordinary wheelchairs were used in hospitals. For this help of another person was needed. This is project to help elderly patients to move around in hospitals using a smart wheelchair that doesn’t need the help of others. This system consists of a tablet for interfacing, Zigbee module for information exchange RF module for destination detection, ultrasonic module for collision detection. The whole functioning of the robo chair is been monitored by the hospital staff. This chair can be controlled externally also.
