I am a doctoral student in the final stages of my program at the University of North Texas. I have been writing in academic settings for more than a decade, and while I continue to work on my dissertation, I am seeking opportunities to put my extensive writing training to use elsewhere.
Several years ago, I took coursework in technical writing from UC Santa Cruz, which I put to use in my five years as a graduate student. I wrote written technical manuals, subject reports, literature reviews, essays, and critical analyses. I also authored the curriculum for several I taught, designing dozens of educational, information- and media-rich webpages that included text with hyperlinked references, supplemental graphics and pictures, and embedded video and audio.
I worked for several years as a grammar and writing tutor to gifted high school students. I also worked as a legal assistant and paralegal. In that role, I drafted legal documents for the attorneys and handled all of the office’s incoming and outgoing correspondence.
I maintain an active interest in computer technology. I have been teaching myself web development and coding, focusing on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python. I am especially proficient with music technology and software.
