● Leading participation in the establishment and management of the department of Industrial
Plasma Engineering in Laser and Plasma Research Institute.
● Scientific management of the interdisciplinary teams and development of innovative
manufacturing processes for functional surfaces from nm to several µm sizes in research and
industrial projects in the field of heat treatment, surface technology, nanotechnology and
additive manufacturing through the development and manufacture of pilot series
implementations, industrial plants and measuring systems.
- Design and manufacture of sputtering deposition systems.
- Innovative integrated sputter deposition of catalysts (Fe, Cr, Ni) and PECVD from multilayer
graphene or vertically aligned single and / or multi-walled carbon nanotubes with open and
closed heads or untouched crystalline carbon fibers for use in battery electrodes, solar cells,
sensors and other optical devices.
- PECVD deposition of thin and thick Diamond Like Coatings (DLC) on metals and glass.
- Glow-to-arc discharge plasma for coating powders as additive layers on the surface of metals to
repair the worn surfaces and welding or brazing of steel, Ni alloys, aluminum and titanium alloys.
- Plasma past surface aluminizing of titanium aluminides and Ni super alloys.
- Design and manufacture of equipments and plasma nitriding of steel, aluminum and
titanium alloys.
- Additive Manufacturing via Micro Arc Oxidation of metallic alloy to produce thin and thick
layers, Plasma Electrolytic Nitrocarburising of metallic alloys, manufacturing of components
by Plasma Spraying.
- Design and construction of structural, electrical and mechanical parts of high vacuum
chambers and systems.
● Management, implementation, evaluation and presentation of measurements and analyzes for
layer and surface characterization, topography on different scales, hardness, friction, wear, optical
and electrical properties through light microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, field emission
scanning electron microscopy, FIB, RIE, lithography, transmission electron microscopy, Energydispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, XRD, IV device testing, cyclic
voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, optical glow discharge emission spectroscopy, spark
spectrometry, Raman or FTIR spectroscopy, gas and liquid chromatography, DSC, TGA, micro and
nano hardness testing, shear, fatigue and creep tests on bulk solids and surfaces.
● Teaching the courses of Plasma Surface Engineering, Plasma Laboratories, Manufacturing
Processes, Physical Metallurgy, Heat Treatment, Welding, Non-Destructive Testing, Advanced
Material Analysis and Thermodynamics.
● Supervision of more than 30 Master and PhD students.
● Experience in applying for publicly funded projects.
