UG Project Details
Title: DESIGN AND FATIGUE LIFE ESTIMATION PETROL ENGINE
PISTON
Making the CAD model of the existing petrol engine components using
CREO parametric software. Assemble the components together using
constraints with suitable degrees of freedom. Transition of CAD data from
parametric to ADAMS view in form of parasolid. Apply connectors and
degrees of freedom in ADAMS and simulate the model for the given speed.
Collect the load cycle data at the required points in the assembly and
maximum load values. Apply the obtained load data’s on model and carry
out structural and fatigue analysis. Estimation of the fatigue life of the
piston and stress values.

Title : SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF TITANIUM CARBIDE
REINFREINFORCED COPPER BASED METAL MATRIX COMPOSITE
Preparation of charge (Cu+TiC) & casting. Fabrication of specimen for wear test according to
dimensions specified by the testing laboratory. Investigating presence of Cu-TiC in the prepared
specimen using XRD & EDAX method. Conducting wear analysis, analyzing surface characteristics of
wear specimens after wear test using SEM. Tabulating & evaluation of results and concluding.

ULTIMAKER 2+
Ultimaker 2+ is a FDM type 3d printer. Using the sliced 3D CAD data, the printer builds the
object layer at a time on the build platform. It does this simply by heating and extruding the
thermoplastic filament through the nozzle and onto the base.It has swappable nozzles which are easily
switchable between 0.25, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8mm nozzles for greater detail or faster print speed. Ultimaker
2+ can optimally use filaments made of materials such as PLA, ABS, CPE, CPE+, Nylon, PC, TPU,
