As HSE COORDINATOR:
My role as Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Coordinator in Chief Innocent Afagha
and Sons Nig.Ltd a reputable construction and labour services providers in oil and gas
projects for Renaissance Africa Energy Company of Nigeria Limited RAEC(formerly SPDC)
in KOLOCREEK Oil field. I am tasked with a critical role in ensuring the well-being of
personnel, the environment, and the community. Here are some key responsibilities:

management and project management team. Effectively coaches and supervises team
members.e.g actively counseling of communities workers and staffs on the relationship
between community workers and company’s worker for the progress of the project.
Requests and gives timely constructive feedback, Ensuring the community’s workers
request are properly documented and site HSE induction forms are signed by all
communities’ workers and returned timely, during daily progress meetings the HSE
coordinator and the Site manager. Effectively managed team to achieve set goals and
maintain performance levels during periods of change.
Ensuring that all communities issues and MoUs are written to conform with the present
economic reality, community’s workers are continually sensitized on the work
procedure and method. Takes responsibility/ownership of one's actions and that of
others (direct reports).
As the project CLO in kolocreek cluster communities I send all correspondences and
letters of agitations, all oral complains and reports to site/project management and
project management’s team. e.g. MoUs of social cooperate responsibilities.

communities, also demonstrated confidence during direct interactions with
Communities leaders, chiefs, and youths, association leaders. Sensitizing of them on the
need for dialogue and peace.

Ensure that all communities related issues e.g. MoUs, agreements are entered before
commencement of project and are strictly adhered to, also ensure that all demand notices,
correspondence are delivered to the right addresses. ensure that company’s project
management team are quickly informed if there is any issues unresolved that will cause
downtime when the project is progressing or legal tussles as the company's project
management team focus on timely delivery of project as required from client. Interfacing
between host communities and project management while Effectively promoting full range
of company's policy, vision and mission, Team contribution and effectiveness with
Exceptional Performance.
Ensure a smooth relationship while liaising between landlords, project impacted
communities and project management team. Escalating the issues to project management
team and even top management team if there is misunderstanding between these
stakeholders.
Knowing and understanding the volatility, hostility of project impacted communities and
company policy on no downtime or lost man-hour due to community agitations; I pay
careful attention to staff and community matter with clear explanation and clarification of
related issues during community and company related meetings, while carrying out all
assigned task to meet project expected completion deadline. Ensuring thorough or periodic
checks on MoUs and Agreements and constantly reminding and advising
management/community/community contractor on the need for implementation for this
will ensure a cordial working environment and relationships. Production of daily timesheet
for communities workers to track their work productivity, minutes of meetings whenever
there was a meeting between company and community, monthly SCD(sustainable
community development) reports, mails are done with carefulness and consultations in
order to minimized errors. Ensuring that all MoUs, resolutions and FTO documents and
identified potential show stopper are adequately reviewed and closed out as soon as
