Closeout Report: Tablet Rollout` Project Summary ● The project launched a digital menu and point-of-sale (POS) system to offer guests a seamless ordering experience and provide the restaurant with a more effective ticketing system in the second quarter. Methodology ● The Sauce and Spoon tablet menu project adapted Agile methodologies, with elements of iterative development and continuous improvement. Lessons Learned Technical issues with the tablets, such as freezing screens or glitches, were reported by a minority of customers. ● From the survey, some guests experienced long wait times for both table seating and food delivery. ● ● Despite efforts to improve order accuracy and in turn reduce food waste, some customers especially ones who modified their orders still reported receiving incorrect orders. ● Initial Test Launch revealed challenges with the tablet menu system, including difficulties with navigation and technical glitches. ● Inadequate training impacted the staff’s ability to help guests navigate the menu more efficiently thereby impacting service quality and guest satisfaction Next Steps ● Continuous improvements and refinement of the tablet system by continuously gathering feedback from customers and staff to identify areas for improvement in the tablet menu system. ● Implement strategies to improve coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house teams to enhance order accuracy and efficiency. ● Review and optimize the menu layout and presentation on the tablet system to improve visibility, readability, and ease of ordering.
