Skills Summary
A communications and media specialist with six years of experience in communications and

Work Experience

Organization: Nigerian Feminist Forum, Owerri, Imo State.
● Writing and publishing stories addressing issues such as women’s rights advocacy in
Nigeria, women in humanitarian situations, feminism activism and movement building, the
impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Nigerian women’s economic lives and gender-based
violence in the Nigerian context. This includes extensive travels and the use of an interview
research approach;
● Content production: Writing, editing, publishing, and disseminating content for the
organization’s website and social media channels, including publications, blogs, videos, photo
stories, and impact stories;
● Event Planning: Assisting with the planning and execution of events and programs like One
Woman One Blog (OWOB) - stories documentation of the impact of COVID-19 on women’s lives
in Nigeria. The NFF 3rd Biennial Conference, November 2022, including liaising with partners
and donors, coordinating the promotion of events and policy conversations on social media
platforms (Twitter Space) and other means like radio programs;
● Support the Programmes Manager to develop and implement communication strategies, by
producing visual communications like graphic designs and infographics, using Canva;
● Social Media Management: Produce daily social media posts and organize live events on
thematic development and women’s rights issues. Work closely with other members of the
communications team to monitor social media coverage of the organization to ensure that all
social media efforts align with the organization's overall goals and message and reach our target
audience.
● Perform media relations activities such as writing press releases, and liaising with media
organizations and journalists to publish NFF’s work. I coordinate responses to media enquiries
and solicit opportunities for coverage and publications from traditional and digital media.
● Manage and liaise with external vendors, including feminist speakers, editors, translators,
printers, photographers, videographers, etc., for organizational policy conversations and
programmes/events.

● Create innovative graphic designs and layouts for all content, including social media messages
and other publications and promotional materials such as designing and printing of banners,
pamphlets, fliers, brochures, and leaflets.

Current Role
Community Moderation:
● Supported over 30,000 students in the ALX VA Program, which led to a high retention rate
(graduation) of about 75% of online participants. This translates to training and graduating
over 24,000 online participants from the ALX VA online program, from the month of July up
to the month of December 2022;
● Created clear, short, comprehensive how-to videos to aid learners in assimilation of
challenging learning content and successfully activating onto our platforms;
● Monitoring conversations held in participant channels, ensuring that all engagements are in
line with our community code of conduct;
● Served over 4,000 students directly in the VA Cohort 2 and Cohort 3 as a Class Owner and
engaged them daily, facilitating the creation of a sticky community and implementing activities
to reduce churn.
Event Management:
● Helped in planning and managing over 32 online events, comprising two events per week;
● Collaborated in drafting questions for our speakers for the weekly online Speaker Series
events;
● Supported the program & community specialists in rolling out program events;
● Ensured that the event was properly set up for audio and visual, including making sure that
speakers and presenters had the necessary equipment and that the event was adequately
recorded and streamed, with closed captioning (for those who had a hearing challenge).
