My role as a teacher varies widely from designing and teaching an original lesson to following lesson plans made by others or just assisting the Japanese teacher in class. Wayne State University (Detroit, MI), English Language Institute, ELI Tutor, February 2010 – May 2011 At the Wayne State University ELI, I worked as a tutor, helping international students learning English with any problems or questions they had about their verbal or written English. I also led a conversation group in which a handful of students practiced their conversational English. Finally, I observed the presentations of International Teaching Assistant candidates and gave feedback on how these students could improve their lessons. ADDITIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE: Walgreen Co. (Macedonia, Solon, Eastlake, Euclid, OH), Photo Specialist, July 2007 – March 2014 My employment at Walgreens began as a summer/part-time job, but I am currently working full-time between two stores in Eastlake and Euclid. I was first hired in Macedonia as a Photo Specialist. In this position, I ran the photo lab where I assisted customers with their photo orders and processed their film. My duties have also expanded to assisting with the off load of weekly truck deliveries of merchandise, reorganizing the bays of the stockroom, and working on resets and revisions on the sales floor. July 1999 – August 2006 This was a family construction company started by my parents who buy older houses and remodel the interior and exterior for resale. Throughout my work experience, I was responsible for many different aspects of reconstruction, including landscaping, building stud walls and dry walling, demolition, and tiling kitchen and bathroom floors. FOREIGN LANGUAGE: Japanese (conversational): I had two academic years of study at The University of Akron and an additional year of study between Kansai Gaidai University and The Yamasa Institute.
