UX UI Brand Artist Modern Website Experiences hourly

The VAM Group HQ: San Francisco, CA, United States Remote job Oct 28

The VAM Group is hiring a UX/UI and Brand Designer with strong visual taste, an understanding of consumer behavior, and experience creating modern, mobile-first digital experiences.

You can develop brand identities, map customer journeys, and turn both into compelling websites and interfaces.

You understand how typography, color, layout, motion, and interaction influence trust, usability, and conversion.

Our goal is measurable revenue impact. We take an AI-led approach with humans in the loop, creating websites, landing pages, lead intake flows, and digital tools that help businesses attract and convert customers.

This is a design-focused role with hands-on prototyping; advanced coding is not required. You must be comfortable using AI, working with CLI tools, and submitting work to designated sandbox repositories.

What you’ll do

Design mobile-first websites, landing pages, forms, and interfaces, adapting them for larger screens.

Create brand identities, color palettes, typography systems, imagery, icons, and visual guidelines.

Translate business goals and customer needs into user flows, wireframes, and polished prototypes.

Create purposeful animation, microinteractions, scroll effects, and interactive 3D experiences.

Design clear conversion paths from first impression to inquiry, booking, or purchase.

Build reusable Figma components and consistent design systems.

Use AI to explore concepts, generate assets, and build working prototypes, refining outputs.

Use CLI tools and Git to run prototypes locally and submit changes via branches and pull requests in sandbox repos.

Collaborate with developers and review implementations for visual quality, responsiveness, and accessibility.

Test designs, identify friction points, and iteratively improve user experience.

What you should bring

Visual and brand design

Portfolio showing polished websites and cohesive brand identities.

Strong typography, spacing, composition, visual hierarchy, and color skills.

Ability to create distinctive design work tailored to the audience and business.

Sound judgment on when motion, rich visuals, or simpler layouts serve the user best.

Mobile-first UX and consumer psychology

Proven experience designing mobile-first: touch targets, navigation, readable text, forms, and CTAs.

Deep grasp of customer motivations, pain points, questions, and objections.

Practical knowledge of how color, copy, imagery, and interaction affect trust and conversion.

Ability to explain design choices using audience insights, context, and evidence.

Accessibility fundamentals: contrast, focus states, keyboard navigation, and reduced motion.

Experience conducting usability testing across mobile and desktop.

Modern tools, AI, and delivery

Strong Figma skills: Auto Layout, components, variants, variables, and interactive prototypes.

Hands-on AI design and prototyping experience (clear prompting, rapid iteration, output validation).

Experience with v0 by Vercel or comparable tools for creating working interface prototypes.

Familiarity with Framer, Webflow, or another visual site builder.

Experience with motion or interactive 3D tools (Spline, Rive, Lottie, Blender, or similar).

Comfort using terminal/CLI tools to navigate projects, install dependencies, run previews, and debug errors.

Basic Git skills: clone, branch, review changes, commit, push, and open pull requests.

Ability to follow project specs, work in sandboxes, protect credentials, and review AI changes.

Awareness of how animation, video, and 3D assets impact mobile performance.

Organized design files, asset libraries, and clear handoff notes.

You do not need every tool listed. Strong fundamentals, a modern workflow, and the ability to learn matter most.

How we work We value ownership, curiosity, clear communication, and creative judgment. AI is part of our daily workflow, but you remain fully accountable for quality. We read docs, work in sandbox environments, test changes, and raise blockers early.

How to apply Apply through this posting with your résumé and 2–3 portfolio projects showing website design, brand identity, and motion or interactive prototyping.

Include at least one mobile-first example and one AI-assisted workflow. Explain the problem, your role, tools used, key design decisions, and what you would improve next. Personal, school, freelance, and client projects are welcome.
