The Role:

The Solar Audit Specialist is responsible for evaluating the technical and physical eligibility of a customer’s property for solar panel and battery installation. This role involves a detailed review of documents and media provided by solar specialists including photos, site details, and electrical bills to determine system viability, necessary upgrades, and compliance with distributor and internal standards. The auditor also validates layout designs from audit designers, ensures alignment with company design standards, generates the approved designs to SPEs, and collaborates with technical managers on product updates or changing distributor requirements. The position bridges sales, technical design, and compliance through cross-functional coordination.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review documents, photos, and reports submitted by specialists to assess site eligibility.
  • Evaluate existing switchboards, meter positions, cable pathways, and structure for solar installation suitability.
  • Identify required upgrades or adjustments to qualify for solar or battery systems.
  • Analyze existing PV systems and determine compatibility with proposed upgrades or battery additions.
  • Compute size adjustments and technical additions required for solar expansion or battery eligibility.
  • Liaise with technical managers to stay updated on product changes and distributor (DNSP) requirement changes.
  • Communicate with specialists regarding customer design preferences or documentation gaps.
  • Coordinate with audit designers to align layout with compliance and technical standards.
  • Generate the approved layouts to SPEs.

YOU MUST HAVE (EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE)

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Renewable Energy preferred).

Experience: Experience in solar PV systems, technical auditing, or design validation is essential. Familiarity with Australian solar regulations is highly desirable.

KEY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Strong analytical skills and technical understanding of PV and battery systems.
  • Knowledge of Australian solar compliance requirements and DNSP regulations.
  • Detail-oriented mindset for document and layout review.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical designs, site images, and switchboard configurations.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with solar design tools and auditing workflows.
  • Problem-solving attitude with a customer-first approach.
  • Adaptable to updates in market offerings and regulatory changes.

This role is remote and will be performed Monday - Friday 7:30AM - 4PM AEST)

Also note the role will be paid $6-7 AUD p/h (Based on experience and at the discretion of the hiring manager) due to being and Australian based buinsess.
