Experience Level: Expert
We are continuing to elevate our digital storefront infrastructure to support rapid international scaling and high-demand product drops. We are seeking a versatile Software Developer to modernize our core frontend/edge architecture, optimize client-side performance under high traffic loads, and bridge seamless data flow between our storefront and inventory management engines.
The ideal candidate possesses deep full-stack proficiency, a keen eye for high-throughput web architecture, and experience in building resilient, ultra-fast user experiences for global fashion retail. This role requires an engineer who can operate autonomously, track progress against deliverables with precision, and ship high-performance, well-tested code.
- Edge Routing & High-Demand Drop Protection: Implement and optimize Edge Workers (e.g., Cloudflare Workers / Fastly VCL) to handle dynamic rate-limiting, geo-steering, and queue management during flash sales and high-volume drops.
- Headless Storefront Refactoring: Modernize key e-commerce pages (Product Display, Cart, Catalog) by migrating legacy rendering logic to a decoupled, server-side rendered (SSR / ISR) architecture to dramatically lower Time to First Byte (TTFB) and Largest Contentful Paint (LCP).
- Real-time Inventory Sync Engine: Build event-driven middleware to bridge localized multi-warehouse inventory management with the frontend display, eliminating overselling risks during concurrent user peaks.
- Observability & Performance Monitoring: Integrate end-to-end Real User Monitoring (RUM) and error tracking pipelines (Sentry, Datadog) to ensure real-time visibility into client-side errors and API bottlenecks.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript / JavaScript across both frontend frameworks (Next.js / React) and serverless/edge runtimes.
- Proven track record in optimizing Web Vitals, CDN caching strategies, and asset delivery networks for global e-commerce.
- Hands-on experience with headless e-commerce architectures, GraphQL APIs, and asynchronous message brokers (RabbitMQ / Kafka or Redis Pub/Sub).
- Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and cloud infrastructure management.
- Ability to provide thorough technical documentation and maintain high automated testing standards (Jest, Playwright, Cypress).
- Payment Type: Hourly
- Hourly Rate: $45 – $65 / hour
- Project Scale: Estimated 40–50 hours total allocation
- Duration: 3–4 weeks with potential for ongoing architecture maintenance
