Senior Product Manager – Global Payroll SaaS (Remote)
Mercans is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the strategy, roadmap, development, and delivery of key modules within its global payroll SaaS platform. The role drives innovation, compliance, scalability, and customer value while collaborating with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Operations, Customer Success, and Commercial teams.
- Own product vision, roadmap, prioritization, and execution for assigned product domains.
- Translate business, customer, and compliance requirements into epics, features, and user stories.
- Lead product delivery from discovery through release and continuous improvement.
- Drive innovation through market research, customer feedback, and competitive analysis.
- Develop differentiating features and support go-to-market positioning.
- Lead the evolution of the global payroll engine, including gross-to-net calculations, taxes, deductions, multi-currency processing, localization, and compliance.
- Partner with Compliance, Engineering, and Data Science to deliver AI/ML-powered payroll capabilities, anomaly detection, predictive insights, and intelligent automation.
- Ensure scalability, auditability, security, API-first architecture, and integration with HRIS, ERP, WFM, and finance systems.
- Support white-label, reseller, and partner implementations through configurable solutions and integration toolkits.
- Collaborate with Customer Success to improve onboarding, adoption, customer outcomes, and issue resolution.
- Drive change management, release readiness, documentation, training, and stakeholder communications.
- Ensure compliance with global regulations, GDPR, ISO/SOC standards, privacy, and security requirements.
- Define and track product KPIs, adoption metrics, operational impact, and business outcomes.
- Mentor junior product managers and promote product best practices and innovation culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Information Systems, or related field.
- 10+ years of B2B SaaS product management experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
- 3+ years in payroll software/payroll SaaS product management.
- Deep knowledge of global payroll, statutory compliance, localization, and gross-to-net processing.
- Strong experience with APIs, integrations, platform architecture, scalability, and Agile delivery.
- Proven ability to deliver compliance-sensitive products across global markets.
- MBA or relevant Master’s degree.
- Experience with payroll rule engines, compliance automation, GDPR, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.
- Knowledge of SaaS monetization, white-label platforms, and partner ecosystems.
- Certifications such as PMP, SAFe PM/PO, CSPO, or Pragmatic Institute.
- 90%+ on-time roadmap delivery.
