We are seeking a Murex S4C Consultant to join our team in Toronto, Ontario. Note: Recent, hands-on Murex experience is mandatory. Only candidates with Murex experience in their most recent assignment(s) will be considered.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on Murex (MX.3) experience — recent experience required
  • Experience supporting the full MX.3 lifecycle: requirements analysis, configuration build, installation, training, upgrade, and production support
  • Ability to professionally interact with Murex colleagues and clients
  • Ability to support clients and project teams during Eastern Time (ET) business hours
  • Must be able to work hybrid — 3 days/week onsite in Toronto (mandatory)

Key Responsibilities

Integration & Delivery

  • Build, test, and support clients on MX.3 integration modules
  • Contribute to project implementations; participate in design, build, and test phases (remote and onsite as needed)
  • Develop trade workflows and interfaces to enable communication between external platforms and Murex — receiving, processing, saving, and acknowledging trade/data feeds
  • Deliver solutions using MXMLExchange, MXopenconnect, Murex APIs, and Datamart

Documentation & Configuration

  • Contribute to functional documentation (test cases, use cases) and design documentation for the build process
  • Develop and maintain end-to-end configuration management packages
  • Install, deploy, and test Murex packaged interfaces (MDIT, Markitwire, BSMT, MarkitCredit) to receive live and end-of-day data from providers such as Bloomberg, Reuters, and Markit

Support & Case Management

  • Handle support cases from notification through resolution and validation
  • Manage BAU and project support: client case follow-up via email, CRM portal, phone calls, and on-site visits
  • Track and manage own deliverables and progress
  • Coordinate bug fixes and enhancements with the Product Team

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Work with S4C stream leads, Front-Office, Back-Office, and Risk teams to gather requirements and develop client solutions
  • Provide the Product division team with timely defect details — reproduction steps, project/client constraints, and fix validation
  • Coordinate with S4C stream leads, Project Manager, and other teams to ensure on-time delivery via regular meetings

Technical

  • Work with SQL, Unix, and Murex proprietary standards including Murex Scripting Language (MSL) and XMLF
  • Use SQL for end-of-day report generation, STP failure analysis, P&L evaluation, and trade feed/status issue analysis
  • Work with Murex proprietary languages/formats: Data Query Language (DQL), MSL (pre-trade logic), XMLF (post-trade flow processing), MxML
  • Create shell/Python scripts to automate day-to-day manual activities
  • Analyze pre-trade and post-trade workflow behavior and integration points to understand and troubleshoot current system issues

Nice to Have

  • Java programming skills (not essential, but a plus)
