Remote (Philippines) | Full-Time | Night Shift
Our client is a growing engineering firm serving the New York City metropolitan area, specializing in Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEP/FP) design. We are looking for three talented remote Drafters / Design Engineers to join our team and work directly with our New York-based engineers during U.S. Eastern business hours.
This is an excellent opportunity for entry-level to mid-level professionals who want to build long-term careers in MEP engineering while gaining hands-on experience in U.S. projects.
- Prepare mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection drawings using AutoCAD
- Develop floor plans, riser diagrams, details, and schedules
- Create existing-condition drawings from surveys, sketches, photos, and engineer markups
- Perform engineering calculations including:
- Heating and cooling load calculations
- HVAC duct sizing
- Plumbing fixture-unit calculations
- Domestic water and sanitary pipe sizing
- Gas piping sizing and layout
- Coordinate drawings with architectural and other trade disciplines
- Revise drawings based on engineer, reviewer, and client comments
- Prepare complete drawing sets for permit submissions and construction documentation
- Maintain organized project records and CAD standards
- Support project updates during construction through RFIs and submittal reviews
Proficiency in AutoCAD (required)
Knowledge or experience in:
- Mechanical / HVAC drafting or design
- Plumbing layouts and riser diagram preparation
- Fire protection drawing support
- Engineering drawing interpretation
Ability to perform:
- Basic HVAC heating and cooling load calculations
- Duct sizing calculations
- Plumbing fixture-unit calculations
- Domestic water and sanitary pipe sizing
- Gas piping layout and sizing
Strong written and spoken English communication skills
Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Engineering Technology
- Drafting
- Building Services Engineering
- Related fields
Availability to work 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time
- Philippines: 8:30 PM – 5:00 AM (9:30 PM – 6:00 AM during daylight savings)
- India: 6:00 PM – 2:30 AM (7:00 PM – 3:30 AM during daylight savings)
- Experience supporting U.S.-based engineering firms
- Familiarity with NYC Mechanical, Plumbing, Fuel Gas, and Fire Protection Codes
- Experience with residential, multifamily, commercial, or hospitality projects
- Experience preparing plumbing riser diagrams
- Fire protection layout and coordination experience
- Familiarity with HVAC load calculation and duct sizing software
- Experience working under engineer review and approval processes
- Revit experience is a plus
0–5 years of relevant experience
