Business English & Admissions Tutor Part Time hourly

EngAll HQ: Seoul, Seoul, South Korea Remote job Oct 16

About the Role

EngAll is a South Korean EduTech company providing 1:1 customized online English classes for highly motivated working professionals and higher education candidates. We are seeking experienced industry professionals and academic mentors to tutor our adult learners through high-stakes career transitions, corporate communications, university admissions, and everyday conversational fluency.

This is a flexible, remote contract role designed as an ideal supplemental income stream for advanced degree holders, active doctoral researchers, and seasoned STEM and IT professionals transitioning to part-time work.

Please Note: This role is exclusively focused on adult learners. Candidates whose primary experience is in K-12 education will not be considered.

What You Will Do

  • Conversational Fluency & Small Talk: Lead unstructured "free-talking" and conversational sessions designed to help adult learners build confidence with daily workplace routines, networking, and everyday office small talk.
  • Applied Business Tutoring: Utilize adult learning principles (including Andragogy and Bloom's Taxonomy) to guide students through real-world corporate scenarios, such as salary negotiations, offer letter evaluations, investor pitching, and formal meeting etiquette.
  • Career & Admissions Mentoring: Provide direct, strategic feedback on academic CVs, resumes, LinkedIn profiles, cover letters, and Statement of Purpose (SOP) essays for Master's and PhD programs when requested by the student.
  • Professional Reliability: Maintain a minimum of 10 hours of weekly schedule availability (including 5 hours during peak demand times) to allow students to book sessions across international time zones.

Candidate Requirements

  • Educational Status: Must hold a completed university degree (Bachelors, Masters, or higher).
  • Industry or Academic Expertise: A proven professional background in a non-teaching corporate sector (STEM, Finance, or Tech/IT is highly advantageous) OR deep, firsthand experience navigating higher education admissions and academia.
  • Regional Market Alignment: Because our students are specifically targeting universities and corporate roles in North America, the UK, and Oceania, we require candidates who hold a passport from the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand.
  • Certification: An accredited English language teaching certification is required. Advanced, regulated credentials that demonstrate a high standard of adult instruction are heavily preferred (e.g., TEFL, CELTA).
  • Technical Independence: A reliable workstation (Windows/macOS), high-speed internet, quality audio/video equipment, and the ability to seamlessly navigate multiple digital platforms concurrently.

Why EngAll?

  • Professional Autonomy: Design a schedule that fits your lifestyle while treating your opened hours with the utmost commitment. Tutors who actively engage students and maintain highly reliable schedules often quickly build a dedicated student base, allowing you to seamlessly scale your hours and earnings.
  • Motivated Adult Learners: Spend your time tutoring and mentoring driven professionals, not managing classroom behavior.
  • Curated Profile Recommendations: We assess incoming students' needs and actively promote your profile to learners whose specific career goals and target industries match your unique expertise.
  • Dedicated Faculty Support: Our team mediates student relations, manages service recovery, and genuinely advocates for our educators.
