At EyeLabX, we’re building the first eye wellness ecosystem that combines digital health, token incentives, and community governance. Our goal is simple: make healthy screen habits rewarding, while giving users, doctors, and developers shared ownership in the future of digital eye care.
We’re a small, remote-first, early-stage team. Our first product is a desktop app that helps people reduce eye strain. Our roadmap includes a token reward system, a DAO for community decisions, and eventually a platform where users can securely share eye health data with verified doctors and earn rewards for better treatment outcomes.
We’re looking for a Founding Blockchain & Full-Stack Developer to own our token infrastructure, smart contracts, and the Web3 frontend that connects users to rewards and governance.
Mission
To make eye wellness effortless, rewarding, and trustworthy by putting users in control of their data and incentives.
How We Work
Ship, then iterate. We value working software over endless planning, but never trade security for speed.
Own the outcome. You build it, run it, and learn from it.
Ask “what could break?” We care deeply about edge cases.
Build with transparency. We share our code, roadmap, and mistakes openly.
Stay small, think big. We prefer a few high-ownership engineers over a crowded team.
Role
You will be the first dedicated blockchain engineer on the team, working directly with the founder and eventually with external auditors and community contributors.
What you’ll own:
1. Smart Contract Development (EVM)
Design, implement, and test our ERC-20 reward token.
Build a reward distribution or staking contract tied to verified user actions.
Plan for upgradeability and security from day one.
2. Web3 Frontend Integration
Integrate wallet connection into our React/TypeScript desktop app.
Build a dashboard showing token balance, earned rewards, and governance status.
Enable one-click claiming of rewards and staking.
3. Governance & DAO Foundations
Implement governance using Snapshot or a lightweight on-chain DAO.
Help define the first governance experiments.
4. Security & Audit Readiness
Write strong tests for all contracts.
Document the system architecture for future auditors.
Coordinate with external audit firms before mainnet launch.
5. Collaboration & Documentation
Work closely with the founder and later frontend/backend engineers.
Write clear documentation for the community and internal handover.
What You Bring
Must have:
3+ years of software engineering experience.
At least 1+ year in Solidity/EVM smart contract development.
Strong understanding of ERC-20, access control, reentrancy guards, and common attack vectors.
Experience with Hardhat or Foundry.
Ability to integrate Web3 libraries into a React/TypeScript app.
Comfort working in a small, remote, asynchronous team.
Nice to have:
Open-source or DeFi protocol experience.
Familiarity with Layer 2 networks.
Basic understanding of oracles.
Interest in DAO governance frameworks.
Not required:
A completed degree.
10 years of experience.
Previous health tech experience.
Compensation & Commitment
Role type: Part-time or full-time, flexible but steady.
Initial setup: Contractor, with potential to convert to employee.
Compensation: Competitive for an early-stage role, with cash plus significant token allocation or equity.
Location: Fully remote, asynchronous communication with occasional sync calls.
Tools: GitHub, Notion, Discord, Linear.
