The mission of Jelly Nonprofit Consulting (JNPC) is to partner with nonprofit organizations and make the world sweeter through grant writing and other support services. JNPC provides comprehensive nonprofit consulting services including, but not limited to, grant writing, needs assessment facilitation, and licensure/accreditation facilitation.

Before launching JNPC, Founder and CEO, Angelina Osornio Torres spent 10 years working in the nonprofit sector in leadership roles, including five years specifically in fund development. To date, Ms. Osornio Torres has raised over $11.4 million with her grant writing skills and in the past two-and-a-half years, JNPC has served 18 nonprofit organizations in Texas, California, and Alaska.

Jelly Nonprofit Consulting offers the following services:

Grant Writing: A grant writer is responsible for preparing the necessary documents needed in order to secure grant money from governments or foundations that provide grant funds to nonprofits. The service consists of developing proposals, writing project descriptions, compiling other information required by grantmakers, and submitting grant applications. The JNPC team can also:

• Proofread and edit grant applications that have already been written by the Client, and
• Rewrite a grant application using one that has already been written by the Client.

Grant Prospect Research: JNPC will conduct research to identify grantmakers that are best suited to meet the nonprofit’s needs and most likely to award funding. JNPC will develop a customized report that highlights grantmakers, their application and award cycles, and giving histories. 

Project Management: JNPC assists organizations by taking the lead and managing projects that require special attention. JNPC will develop a project management plan that outlines the goals, objectives, and strategies, and includes a deliverables schedule. Some examples of projects include:

Strategic Planning for Grant Fund Development Facilitation: JNPC will facilitate this process by assisting the organization in identifying financial needs, setting priorities, identifying resources and deficiencies, developing funding strategies, identifying and agreeing upon intended outcomes/results, assigning responsibility, and ensuring the staff and board buy into the plan and share a willingness to carry it out. After planning is completed, JNPC will develop the strategic plan document and submit it to the organization for implementation.

Needs Assessment Facilitation: A needs assessment is a systematic process for determining and addressing needs, or "gaps" between current conditions and desired conditions or "wants". The discrepancy between the current condition and wanted condition must be measured to appropriately identify the need. This helps nonprofits better understand the needs of the community and determine the best methods to meet those needs. JNPC will facilitate this process by assisting the organization in developing a committee of key stakeholders, identifying areas of priorities, conducting research of existing conditions, gathering community input, and developing a report of findings. A needs assessment report can be a helpful resource during strategic planning.  

Licensing/Accreditation Facilitation: Business licenses are permits issued by government agencies that allow individuals or companies to conduct business within the government's geographical jurisdiction. Accreditation is a third-party attestation related to a conformity assessment body (such as a certification body) conveying formal demonstration of its competence to carry out specific conformity assessment tasks. JNPC will become experts of the licensing/accrediting body, their requirements, and will lead the preparation and application submission process on behalf of the client.  

Client Management: JNPC will meet with key staff to conduct a mini financial needs assessment and facilitate the creation of a one-year strategic plan for grant fund development. This service includes grant writing, grant prospect research, and other related tasks as needed. In order to provide the best service, client management requires a one-year commitment.

Proofreading and Editing: For organizations that have written documents that need a fresh take, JNPC offers proofreading services, which is the correcting of surface errors such as grammar, spelling, and punctuation. JNPC also provides editing services, which seek to improve the overall quality of writing by enhancing flow, readability, and structure.
