Fitness Factors, Youssef Hamdi
In today’s health-conscious society, it is essential to maintain a well-balanced, varied diet, in order to provide the body with all its needs—and to control weight. To start with, people may have to change their lifestyle if it is producing excessive stress. A further factor to consider is that Stress, at work and at home, can contribute to heart disease and stress related disorders, such as migraine.
Habits which are harmful to health should be controlled. Cigarette smoking, for instance, can cause bronchial disease and lung cancer. Not only that, but even passive smoking can lead to deathly diseases. Another point to remember is that excessive alcohol intake can cause liver disease; but if one must drink, it is better to limit oneself to a ‘safe’ number of units per week.
While these habits are health-damaging, there are certain ways by which you can counter-attack their poison-like effects. Exercise is one thing to start with: it is both enjoyable and healthy as it controls the appetite, gives a feeling of well-being, reduces susceptibility to many diseases, and helps to eliminate stress.
Adjusting one’s diet can be helpful. Having more fibre in the diet males for better digestion and helps to prevent bowel cancer. Furthermore, Vitamins taken in fruit and vegetables help to give resistance to infection. As previously mentioned, smoking, aside from leading to lung cancer, can damage one’s teeth. Thus, eating fewer sugary foods will result in less tooth decay and better weight control. Seemingly, it is important to cut salt and fat intake in order to reduce the likelihood of heart disease and circulatory problems.
To sum up, while considering these tips is necessary, it is highly recommended to be armed to the teeth with a strong will in order to bind your addictions and bring them under your control. That said, stay healthy and fit!
