First Impression
First impression is the last impression
The first impression is as important as it gets. Nobody can escape from a bad one but good ones can be changed easily after time. Human psychology has a simple way of turning good into bad quickly but the reverse process is close to impossible. Being able to show where you stand from the beginning could be of enormous help in business and in personal affairs.
How many people you know who would willingly give a second chance to a stranger? Once we start on a bad foot with someone, the process is completed in our minds and we are closing ourselves for a better impression – we get stuck with the first one.
Clichés are out of fashion but sometimes they are so true – be yourself. The importance of us showing our true colors from the first encounter is immense. By being our true selves, even if we are not appreciated from the start, it could be for the greater good as nobody wants to be around people who do not appreciate them.
People are quick to judge and we can still try looking good without actually trying too hard. Nice clothes, good hair, a shower, a likable smile. Not pushing it too far, these are just us taking good care of ourselves. The smile will open the doors for people to feel more comfortable around us.
As recommendations come, staying true to yourself can be right up there with taking good care and not trying too hard when we first meet someone. Nobody likes a show off and too much modesty and shyness could steer people away from us. Be confident and true to your beliefs, people will appreciate it.
