H2 About Bank of China travel insurance
The Bank of China was established in July 1992 offering insurance for businesses and professionals. They have now branched out to offer the Bank of China travel insurance, fire insurance, motor insurance, and many others.
H2 Bank of China travel insurance plans
The Bank of China offers two kinds of travel insurance plans. First is their “e” Travel comprehensive insurance plan which offers either a single or annual travel plan. Under this insurance package, extra benefits are given if the insured person is infected or suspected to have H1N1, or also known as the swine flu.
The other package is the Universal travel insurance which offers the Silver plan, available for only single tips, and the Gold and Diamond plans, available for either single or annual plans. Uniquely, students who are travelling overseas with a parent accompanying them are entitled to free student overseas travel coverage.
H3 Bank of China travel insurance: “e” Travel comprehensive insurance
The “e” Travel comprehensive insurance offered by the Bank of China travel insurance divides itself into the Single and Annual Travel Plan. These two plans generally offer the same coverage, but the Annual travel plan offers a bigger limit.
The Annual travel plan covers 60 days for each trip during the year with a policy extension of 10 days. Coverage for personal accidents, public transport accidents and overseas medical expenses limits at HK$250,000 each for children below 18 years old and the elderly over 70 years old for both plans. The Annual travel plan is also constant at HK$1,000,000 for adult coverage under the previously mentioned situations.
The Single travel plan, on the other hand, varies its limits for the adults. For adults, personal accidents are covered up to HK$600,000, public transport accidents are up to HK$1,200,000, and overseas medical expenses max out at HK$500,000. Lost baggage and personal belongings are covered at HK$6,000 while important documents have coverage up to HK$4,000.
H3 Bank of China travel insurance: Universal Travel Insurance
The Universal travel insurance option is aimed at people that will insure more than one person in the same plan. You can only apply for the Silver plan for a single trip, while the Gold and Diamond plans can be used for either a single trip or for an annual plan.
The Silver plan starts its personal accident coverage at HK$600,000 while the amount doubles that for the Gold plan at HK$1,200,000 and the Diamond plan limits it at HK$2,000,000. For persons under 18 or over 70 years old, the coverage is half of that for the Silver and Gold plan while the Diamond plan is limited to HK$800,000.
All three plans do offer 24-hour emergency assistance services which include a hospital deposit guarantee of HK$50,000, unlimited access to emergency evacuation needs, and the actual expenses to return to your country of residence.
