Some of the tattoos can be toxic
The investigation shows that not only hygiene can be a problem when tattooing but the ink can
be very dangerous as well. Your drawing will accompany you within your whole life but you can
herewith get along more with your tattoo, for example serious skin problems.
The reason is that the dyes of the tattoo inks can cause cancer, as well as procreation toxicity and
painful skin itch lasting for years. It starts the moment the ink simply goes deeply to your skin,
and the most dangerous of them is red. Blue, green and black inks are very harmful as well.
Obviously certain inks can be forbidden in the European Union. For the moment they are not
controlled at all. The President of the Tattoo and Piercing Industry, Rick Stevens, stated that the
toxic compounds of many tattoo inks which are at the moment used in the EU on the basis of
Chinese inks which are cheap, are not checked for safety. Also, the tattoo shops in the UK are
not audited by the authorities, and lots of the citizens are getting tattoos all the time.
The FDA of the US warned about the harmful impact of the inks as well, stating that the
hypersensivity reaction can occur right after tattooing, as also in several years. They stated also
that the tattoo inks are not audited by the law of the USA, but lots of notifications about the
tattoo consequences made them start investigating the ink safety.
The investigation of the inks used in the US tattoo parlors is conducted currently by FDA’s
National Center for Toxicological Research based in Arkansas. They examine chemical
composition, safety and the pigments’ response to sunlight. They also consider the tattoo
removal procedures filtering out the disease-causing organisms, while they send pigment to the
lymph glands. It’s been found that cancel cells penetrate the lymph glands and metastasize
through the body.
As the Truth About Cancer says, near 10 percent of those people who had tattoos suffered
antagonist reactions from inks, including skin itches and infections lasting more than four
months. The Copenhagen University Hospital investigations discovered carcinogenic chemicals
in 13 of 21 popular tattoo inks in Europe, the origins of which were unknown. Yet black pigment
being the most common contains harmful poisons that lead to cancer.
The FDA doesn’t determine that tattoo inks will be controlled in the nearest future and they can’t
make any reporting until they have all the results of investigations. Though the EU is going to
suggest tattoo inks regulations soon.

Some tattoos can be toxic
Research shows that not only hygiene can be a problem when getting a tattoo—the inks can be
very dangerous as well. Your beautiful drawing will remain with you for the duration of your
life, but it may bring along something you haven’t bargained for, like serious skin problems.
The main reason is that the dyes the tattoo inks are made of can cause cancer, as well as
reproduction toxicity and painful skin itch that can last for years. The process starts the moment
the ink goes inside the skin and you can never be sure what would happen afterward. It has been
determined that the most dangerous of the dyes is the red one, though blue, green and black inks
are very harmful as well.
Obviously, the European Union can ban the use of certain inks, but for the moment there is no
control at all. The President of the Tattoo and Piercing Industry, Rick Stevens, stated that the
toxic compounds of many tattoo inks currently used in the EU and derived from cheap Chinese
inks are not checked for safety. Also, the authorities never inspect the tattoo shops in the UK,
and the citizens getting tattoos are never even informed about the kinds of inks they receive into
their skin.
The FDA of the US warned about the harmful impact of the inks as well, stating that a
hypersensitivity reaction can occur right after tattooing, as well as in the following years. They
also indicated that the US law doesn’t require tattoo inks to be inspected, but the growing
number of notifications about tattoo consequences made them begin researching the inks’
safety.

As the Truth About Cancer states, nearly 10 percent of tattooed individuals have suffered from

The FDA doesn’t foresee creating tattoo inks’ regulations in the near future, and, unfortunately,
they can’t report the results of their findings until they conclude their investigation. The EU,
however, is on the road to suggesting tattoo ink regulations soon.
