Recommendation Letter
To whom it may concern
It is with great pleasure that I recommend Simon in his application to your medical school. I have known Simon for quite some time since he joined my class of Health sociology and medicine. Having taught him for quite some time, it has come to my attention that he shows potential interest in medicine. I therefore think that it is a great idea for him to take this course to deepen his understanding of the health disparities affecting our societies.
I have taught Simon for one academic year. During this time, I have come to know him personally through many meetings in my office. I found him to be quite a promising student. For instance, his academic performance and course work have been consistently promising. There is no time that he had recorded a drop in his grades. I usually ask my students to make brainstorming sheets when reading through the course materials as a way of monitoring their involvement in class. Of all the students in his class, Simon spends most of his time developing his ability to comprehend new concepts through note taking.
For the end of term results, he secured an outstanding grade. As for my class in health sociology and medicine, he wrote an interesting piece. The article is about the difficulties that physicians face when serving low income communities. He did a thorough research and investigated the trend of top physicians serving wealthier communities and the lack of incentives for well-trained health workers who work in poor areas. He compared the cost of education to become a physician and the kinds of wages provided by institutions especially those relying on government funding. It was very impressive how he integrated the sociology theory during his analysis and his ability to describe various problems and unifying them into a single argument.
Simon demonstrates many qualities that make him an ideal student. For instance, he is very passionate about his work researches. He always have the eager to discuss his researches with me. When I am not around, he shares his researches with his course mates, those interested of course. He is a teamwork student and he find it easy to interact with anyone. He is an incredibly bright student and expertly handles the demand and stress of academic work.
Admitting him is adding another asset to your institution. He clearly understands the concepts presented in the class and expertly applies them to his problem solving. Many times he had been chosen by other classmates to tutor them claiming he explains better to their understanding. As a result, I see this mind-set necessary for success in a challenging academic setting such as medical school.
I clearly hope that you will seriously consider admitting Simon to your program. I am 100% sure that he is more than capable of succeeding in your medical school. If you have any questions or require more information about the student, contact me by email at:-
Yours Sincerely,
Professor Mark Muigai,
