Introduction
MobileApp is an innovative social media application intended to help a user to view a snapshot of their daily life or their friends in one single view. The application, identifies popular locations nearby based on the user’s current location, add information such as pictures and videos to each, share with friends & public, create groups, and initiate personal and/or group messaging. With this unique application, memories can be stored in the form of pictures and share with the world or friends.
MobileApp smoothly integrates with other social media platforms such as Twitter, Google+, and Facebook. After signing up, users can invite friends, add them to their profile, and share their picture journey.
Registering for MobileApp
Before using the application, a user must register using one of the many log on options. MobileApp provides multiple options such as Email, Facebook, Twitter, or Google+.

Users can tap LOG IN to login using their registered credentials or tap SIGN UP to register. The login screen appears below.

Users can use the sign up interface to register for MobileApp. They can also tap the Facebook, Twitter, or Google+ icon to Login using any of these accounts.

Registration requires the user to provide an email address that will be used for registration, a password, and date of birth in the respective fields. User then taps Next to move to the next screen as shown in the following image.

In this screen, user provides a username that he would like to use. If the given username is already in use, the application provides a message and suggestions for a new username as shown in the following image.

After adding friends, the Verify Phone screen is displayed. User must provide a phone number for verification. Then, he taps Verify to send a code to the provided number.
Note: Users can tap Skip to skip this screen. But, skipping verification displays an error mark against the username in the Profile page.

After tapping Verify, the Verify Phone options screen is displayed. Users can select whether they want to receive a verification call or an SMS as shown in the following image.

Based on the selection, user receives a call or an SMS. The user must make a note of the verification code. Enter the verification code in the Verify Code screen as shown in the following image. Then, he taps Verify to confirm the code and ensure security for the account.

After successfully logging in to the application, a Link Accounts screen is displayed. Using this screen, users can link their social media accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, Tumblr, Instagram, and LinkedIn with their MobileApp account as shown in the following image. User can tap Skip to skip this option and move to the next screen.

The next screen is the Find Friends screen that lets users add their friends from various social media accounts. If any of the user’s friends are not already registered with MobileApp, the application provides an option to invite friends to create an account. User can tap Follow to follow the friends who are registered with MobileApp and tap Invite to invite the friends who are not yet registered.

Understanding the Home screen
After successfully signing into the application, users can view the Home screen. The following image shows the first screen a user can see when logged into the application.

The following table explains each element on this screen and the actions that are initiated after a user taps them.
Icon
Purpose
Tap to turn the flash to auto, on or off.
Tap to view user profile and make edits to their profile settings.
Tap to toggle between front and back camera.
Tap to view the Nearby page. This shows a list of the most popular nearby locations based on user activity.
Tap to view the world map. A global view of user activity represented by color coded “hot-spots.”
Tap to capture a picture or record a video. Video recordings are limited to 20 seconds.
Tap to view notifications.
Tap to create a group message, to view user-related group messages or chat with an individual friend through videos, pictures and text messages all in one. All chat messages are erased after they have been read.
When a user taps the Nearby icon in the lower left hand corner, the nearby locations based on the user’s location can be seen as shown in the following image.

Searching for a new location
Users can search for a new location, which is different from their current location. He can tap the icon to view the search location screen as seen in the following image.

User can start entering the name of the location that he wants to search for in the Search field. After this, he can tap the desired location to view the Nearby list view for the searched location. The search results show the nearby popular locations for that particular searched location

The image above appears when a user taps the globe icon. This screen displays user activity on the world map. The more the activity in a certain location, the larger is the circle. The green circle shows the locations where image or video uploads are being currently uploaded by MobileApp users, the blue circle shows locations that were active in the past 24 hours, and the yellow circle shows locations where no activity is currently occurring, but there once was.
After a user types a location to search, he can tap to Filter By City, state, country, distance, or by activity providing the user with a more detailed search result shown below.

Searching by hashtags
Users can easily find pictures or videos that are grouped under a particular category using the hashtags. Hashtags are words preceded by the # symbol to locate popular terms used by people to tag pictures or videos.
A user can tap the Globe icon to navigate to the Globe page. Then, he can tap the icon to search for hashtags. User can type the keyword or terms preceded by the # symbol in the Search field as shown in the following image.

Searching for People
On the world view, there is a search field that lets users search for people to connect with and view their shared public pictures and videos. By default, a user can view all the pictures and videos that are uploaded to the globe. For pictures and video uploads by other users that are not a user’s friend, they have the option to view their story feed, if the other user has chosen the option to have their profile made public. However, if the user has marked their account as private, users must send a request to follow the user in order to view the user’s story. The Search screen can be seen in the following image under the world icon.

User must tap the person that he wants to follow to view their shared pictures and videos in the public domain or profile to send a request to follow the user.
Searching for Places
A user can also search for places by typing in the initial letters of the place that he is looking for. MobileApp starts populating results related to the letters that are entered in the Search field.

Viewing pictures and videos
Users can view pictures and videos that are on the public domain (the globe). To view the pictures that are available in the public domain, he must tap the world icon and view public uploads by all users.
To view the pictures or videos from any view, a user tap the image. Based on the delay settings for pictures, the slideshow starts displaying pictures in succession. For videos, users can record videos up to 20 seconds.
If a user wants to skip the slideshow and manually navigate through the pictures, he must tap the image to view the next image. The picture and video slideshow can be seen in the following image.

A user can tap the icon to like a picture or video. To view the profile of the user who uploaded the picture, a user can tap the name of the user.
Capturing Pictures/video
To capture videos or pictures, a user must tap the icon. After the picture is clicked, a user can add filters and other features before sharing it with their friends or the option to share it with the world.
Taking a picture
Users can switch between the front and back camera to capture Selfies or capture an image as shown in the following image. To capture a picture with back camera, a user must tap the icon.

Capturing Front Back mode
Users can also capture pictures in Front Back mode. This mode lets a user take pictures from both cameras simultaneously. User needs to swipe the Camera Mode slider to click a picture using the Front Back mode.

A user can review the captured picture and also take a retake, if he is not satisfied with the results. A The user must tap the icon to retake the picture as shown in the following image.

Adding Text
After an image is captured, a user can edit the picture and control multiple effects. User can add text to the captured picture. Tap the icon to add title to the picture as shown in the following image.

Adjusting picture brightness
Users can edit the brightness of the picture they have clicked using the icon.
Adding Filters to pictures
Filters can be used to add effects to a user’s pictures. MobileApp provides multiple filters to enhance the picture before sharing it.
A user must tap the icon to display a list of filters that can be applied to the picture. Slide left or right to view the available filters. The following image shows the image captured through the Home screen.

Adding time delay to pictures
The pictures that a user captures becomes a part of a picture slideshow, also known as, the user’s story. Every picture in that slideshow is displayed to the viewer for a specific amount of time, which is set using the time delay option. This time delay option is to be set when the picture is taken.
After a user captures a picture, he must tap the icon to set the time delay. The time delay can be set up to 7 seconds as shown in the following image.

Adding a hashtag to pictures
Hashtags can be added to pictures to make them easily searchable. If a user searches for the hashtag that a user has added to the picture, it can be seen in the search results.
After a user captures a picture, he can tap the icon. Enter the relevant hashtag that he wants to add to the picture. The following image shows the hashtag field. The application only allows one hashtag per picture.

Saving pictures
After a user adds effects to the pictures, he can save the picture either to Dropbox, Google Drive, or the user’s Phone image gallery. The user must tap the icon to access the saving options as shown in the following image.

Sharing pictures
Every picture captured can either be made public or shared privately with friends and groups. By default, the privacy levels remain public, unless specified otherwise by the user.
After a user captures the picture, he can tap the icon to select who and where he wants to send the upload to. User can select on this screen whom he wants to share the picture with. User can either share it publicly to the world, to their own story, in a group chat, or specific friends, or have the ability to also share it on any of the social media accounts.

If a user wants to share the picture with everyone and make it public, he must tap the (globe) icon.
Capturing videos
To capture videos, a user must move the slider from the picture back camera screen and select the Video option.
Managing Profiles
User can view their profile and information such as followers, following, people views, and pictures uploaded.
Viewing the profile
To view the profile, from the capture screen, user must tap the icon. User can view information such as profile picture, his picture uploads, and his story from this screen.

A user must tap the icon to view all uploads that have been added to a user’s story for the day. By clicking this icon, a user can edit and manage their uploads. The blurred image in the background showcases the most recent upload to a user’s profile. The profile page also includes a short bio related to a user and updated by the user.

Tap the icon to view the user’s story uploads. The user uploads are separated to view by “to world” and “my stories.”

Tap the icon to remove the picture from the story. Tap the icon to save the picture to a user’s mobile device. The number next to the icon displays the number of times the picture is liked. The number next to the icon displays the number of times this picture has been viewed. The bottom-left corner icon displays the thumbnail to the profile page of the person who has uploaded the picture.
Viewing the followers and following
From the profile page, a user can view the number of followers and the people the user is following. A user can tap the icon to view his followers.

Tap the icon to capture a picture and share with a particular person. User can also initiate a chat with a specific person by clicking the icon.
Manage profile settings
User can control settings related to their profile, which include following people, managing account, controlling profile views, and much more.
He can tap the icon to manage the profile settings.

To manage who a user is following and to follow more people, he can tap Follow People. User can select any of the social media accounts and follow his contacts from these accounts. Tap Follow next to the name of the person that the user wants to follow. If any of a user’s friends is not using the application yet, he can tap Invite next to the name of that person and invite them to use the application.

To manage a user account, a user must tap Account. This screen provides multiple options such as editing user profile, changing password, clearing conversations, blocking people, and making an account private.

User must tap Edit Profile to edit user display name, bio, mobile number, and more. He must tap Save to save the changes.

To manage passwords, a user must tap Change Password, and then tap Save to save the changes.

To manage privacy settings related to a user profile, a user must tap Who Can. User can manage options such as who can send him uploads, view user’s story, follow requests, who can accept the follow requests, and who can view uploads of the user.

To view recent profile activity, user can tap Recent Activity. This screen displays activities that a user performed such as liking uploads, uploading pictures, and more.

To manage settings such as linked accounts, cellular data control, the original uploads saving options, and Permissions, user must tap Settings.

User can tap Linked Accounts to connect the application with their social media accounts. Tap Connect to link the account with the application. A green check mark indicates the account is already linked.

To manage support queries, user must tap Support. This screen lets users send feedback about the application, report a problem, and more.

Managing Instant Messaging
User can initiate chat conversations with his friends and also a group of friends. To open the Chat screen, user must tap the icon. All the chat conversations are erased once a user has read them.

Viewing the chat screen
This screen displays all the groups that a user is a part of, their chat conversations with friends, and also options to initiate a new chat.

Under the Groups area, user can see the groups that he is a part of. Under the Friends area, he can see the most recent conversations between him and his friends.
Accessing the Groups area
Tap any of the groups to view the group conversation.
Note: The group conversations are available to read only once. They are automatically erased once read. The highlighted group thumbnails indicate group conversations that are yet to be read.

Tap the icon to access the group chat settings. User can control notifications related to the group or leave the group.

Accessing the Friends area
Tap the most recent friends to start a conversation.
Note: The greyed out thumbnails indicate that the chat information is downloaded and ready for the user to read. The active thumbnails indicate that these chat messages are in queue for download. After a user has read the pending downloaded conversations, download for these queued conversations begins. The checked thumbnails indicate that the user has already read the conversation and the conversation is erased.

Tap the icon to access the friend chat settings. Users can block the other user through these settings.

Initiating a chat conversation
To start a conversation, either as a group or with a single friend, tap the Search field as shown in the following image.
In the Search screen, tap a friend or more than one friend with whom the user wants to initiate a chat conversation. After selecting the user or users, tap Send to start the conversation.

Viewing profiles
User can view other user profiles and their story based on their privacy settings. If the other user is a friend, the user can view the other user’s uploads marked as private. If the user follows some users, he can only view uploads that are marked public. Tap the user thumbnail to view the user profile from any screen of the application.
The user profile is displayed as a pop up window. Tap the icon to view the user story.

Tap the icon to control the profile settings. User can enable story notification to receive notifications when a new picture is uploaded, block user, or report user.

User can report the user uploaded picture or any picture as inappropriate. Tap the icon in the picture to report the picture.

Managing notifications
The notification screen displays two tabs. The Today tab displays all the nearby activities based on user’s location. The You tab displays all the notifications related to the user’s followers, uploads, and chats. Tap the icon to view the notifications screen.

Tap the You tab to view the notifications related to the user’s feed. Under the Recent area, user can view the recent activities related to his profile.

Tap Follow Request to view the request from other users to become a follower of a user’s profile. User’s followers can only view the pictures marked as public. Tap Accept to accept the request. Tap Accept All to accept all the request. Tap the icon to delete the request.
