Who is a highly sensitive person?
The answer is found in the central nervous system of a person. Highly sensitive people are thought to process sensory data like sight, smell and sounds at a heightened level.
They process the environment around them more deeply, which results in an overstimulation.
According to the research of Dr Elain Aron, an average HSP and non-HSP show about the same level of creativity and intelligence.
The difference lies in the way both groups react to the environment around them.
A highly sensitive persons behaviour is often misunderstood by the other group. People often advise them to toughen up a bit or develop a little more tolerance.
