III. Managerial Function
Planning
Here at Dionysus, the management had came up with three different approaches in planning.
First, Strategic planning.
Dionysus©, analyzes its competitive opportunities and threats.
Includes formulation of objectives,
OBJECTIVE: Promote high standards of assets and service and offer our guest superior quality and value.
Second, Tactical planning.
Tactical planning is intermediate-range planning that is designed to develop relatively concrete and specific means to implement the strategic plan.
Third, Operational planning
The management specifies ways to achieve an existing goal. In this case,
To achieve such goal, the club was designed with a luxurious interior inspired by esoteric décor of Egypt and Greek style, with leather sofas and May sculptures. Regarding our customer relations, the managements approach is to treat them as friends, take care of them, and make them happy in all ways. Make them experience the kind of service that only Dionysus can provide.
Organizing
Dionysus© created a structure of organization which acts as the framework within which effort is coordinated. The management organizes each department in a way where human resources are allocated properly to perform the job that matches their skills.
Staffing
After the organizational structure is created, the human resource manager then acts upon. In Dionysus© every applicants undergoes an orientation program to give them further information about the position/job that they’re applying for. Right after the orientation, the applicants are being trained, so that they can enhance their skills and be prepared for the job that awaits them.
Leading
First, the manager must understand their subordinates’ personalities, values, attitudes, and emotions. This can provide important information as how managers can most effectively lead subordinates.
The management has its own standards that an effective leader has, which includes,
ability to motivate subordinates,
communicate effectively, and
can use power effectively.
Controlling
In this matter, the management of Dionysus© make sure that managers are not confused of the kind of control that we want them to have. This function does not imply that managers should attempt to control or manipulate the personality, value, attitude, and emotion of their subordinates, instead, this function of management concerns the managers’ role in taking necessary actions to ensure that the work related activities of the subordinates are consistent with and contributing toward the accomplishment of organizational and departmental objectives.
IV. Conclusion
The five managerial functions are the best means of describing the managers’ job. Although there have been tremendous changes in the environment faced by managers and the tools they use to perform their roles, managers still perform these essential functions.
