Instead of gasping at the monumental amount of work that needs to be done at the last moments, it’s easier if you take care of small things on a daily basis, leaving only a few things before the final day.
Here’s a list of easy life-hacks that can let your house do the talking without creating a big hole in your pocket
6 Easy Life Hacks That Helped Me Sell My House
1. Clean the Front Porch/Yard
The first thing a person visiting your house comes across is your front porch or your yard (if you have one). First impressions tend to be the last one and you don’t want your house to leave the wrong impression during a staging.
You can clean out the gutter twice a month, while the porch will appreciate a quick broom and wash every week.
2. Strategically Placed Mirrors
Everyone wants to live in large houses, but nobody wants to pay for it. Solution? Use mirrors. If mirrors are placed strategically it can make the room seem bigger and also help to light up the room.
3. Switch on the Lights
Nobody likes visiting dim houses, especially, if they’re looking to invest in it. So, switch on all the lights and light it up. Make your house seems all bright and beautiful.
4. Less is More
We often mistake junk for something precious. Whether it’s a small article from that fair last year or a memoir from the tropical island vacation 6 years back, it all seems so very important. But, when it comes to staging a house, keep the table tops and desks clean. Remember, minimalistic is always good. Less is more and it let people visualize what they are going to do with the space.
5. A Fresh Coat of Paint
This is one of the things that will have to wait till you figure out you want to sell your house, unless, your house was bought for investment purposes only. A fresh coat of paint (only one coat will do) on the outside and the main rooms like the main bedroom and living room can do wonders do your property valuation. This is one of biggest decisions I made, when I listed to sell my house.
6. Change the Curtains
Curtains are one of the most overlooked items in the house. While your bed-sheets and carpets get all the love, curtains remains ignored. But a bright and fresh curtain can change the look of the room.
