Most people feel like they have a specific allergy when it comes to dieting. Everybody thinks dieting means starvation. Yes…most people think that dieting means stop eating tasty, good food as it contains more calories and results in putting more weight, but it is not true. Dieting can be thought of as a discipline of choosing good food, but unfortunately the concept of dieting has been misinterpreted to take advantage of it and dieting business has grown out of proportion all over the world. When it comes to dieting, a lot of people set themselves up for failure even before the process started. They are literally afraid to go on their diet and plan their risks before they start the process. Sadly, the truth is, many people plan their first Rocky Road accident while eating at the last bowl of Rocky Road before the big event. I do not know why we do this ourselves, but I see it everywhere in diets. The most popular idea is to eat the foods you like and enjoy the most before starting the dieting process, because these things should be completely avoided to reduce these unwanted pounds. If you are honest with yourself, there can be nothing more than the truth. Moderation is an idea that many of us hate to embrace. For any diet you adopt to be successful you need to change the way you think about food and your personal taste in food. Food is not the enemy. That's something that not enough people really understand. Even 'delicious' foods are not enemies. The enemy is your personal inability to properly share the food you eat. The problem is that most of us eat the wrong foods more often than we eat the right ones. This is where the problems lie. Our body needs the nutrients it needs by not eating the five servings of vegetables and three servings of fruit we need to eat each day. Our bodies know that something is missing and we feel hungry and deficient. If we eat the right balance of fruits and vegetables every day, we will find that we are less likely to feel hungry and crave unhealthy foods. This means that we are more likely to enjoy them in moderation because we have to enjoy them. Almost every fast food meal offers super size fries and empty calories through a gallon of your favorite cola. You need to learn to say no to these things and avoid situations where you feel tempted to participate in orders of this size. To be successful in your diet you need to adopt a healthy building process rather than losing something to yourself. Do not think of your weight loss plan as a negative, but as a positive force in your life to make positive changes. If you have negative thoughts, do not push them into your diet. When you feel deficient, remind yourself that you are losing weight from carrying the extra weight of your bones. Remind yourself that those bulky dresses designed to hide bulges are missing out on your wardrobe. Remind yourself that you are losing the bulbs of your body for years and bringing back the body of your youth. Do not get caught up in a diet that you forget to enjoy some of the good things in life. Monitoring your weight and counting your calories does not mean you can never go on your allotment. However, the goal is to find balance. If you learn to share your food properly, eat in moderation, and include enjoyable calorie burning activities in your daily routine. It can only be lost if you allow yourself to lose weight and have a healthy diet. If you can't control yourself when engaging, avoid engaging in everything. However, if you can learn to incorporate those little treats into your daily routine and burn extra calories, you should find a happier and more successful 'dieter' than you ever had before.
