PROFILE
I am having an experience of approximately 25 years in technical systems maintenance/management and various related technical services. The prime area of responsibility included maintenance of equipment and its serviceability to a maximum level, safety management systems, training of technical work force to come up to the highest standard of maintenance. It constantly required interaction with various safety/quality ensuring bodies like Quality Assurance and Quality Control Departments. These setups were regularly subjected to auditing of processes involved and documentation by the manufacturer/third party and internal auditing by various higher formations. The prime area of responsibility included maintenance for all levels of operations, scheduling for induction, testing, various calibration activities, quality, spare management, training, trend analysis, forecasting and investigation/analysis. Keeping in view my specialist experience, I was detailed twice to establish maintenance facilities at two different locations and erection of test bench for the testing and calibration. It culminated in successful induction of the complete facility and subsequent operations. I had been assigned the prestigious task of Training in Charge of around 2000 technicians at the line and base level maintenance set ups where I was responsible for their technical training, training assessments, design, development, conduct and evaluation. This office was also responsible for conduct of technical modifications, professional skill development and career enhancement.
My last assignment in safety investigation set up, for the last eight years is unique in nature and enabled me to have unparalleled experience anywhere in the country by carrying out investigations into major accidents (damage beyond economical repair and involving human fatalities/injuries) after getting appropriately qualified. I have conducted safety investigations as member technical of the inquiry team. I underwent a specialist training for establishment of Flight Data and Cockpit Voice Recorder (FDCVR) Laboratory at my work place. I successfully commissioned this facility and extensively utilized the information obtained from this source for the investigation and analysis purpose. This is specialized software aided set up recording live state of various performance parameters and their health.
Keeping in view my experience as safety investigator and specialist, I was given the role of human factor specialist for technical manpower and during this assignment I had the opportunity to look at all matters related to Maintenance Human Factors Incidents and Accidents. I designed a specific database for monitoring of all human factor occurrences. Consequently all this experience led to my selection as a Program Facilitator for a specific resource management program known as Maintenance Resource Management (MRM), internationally recognized as the most effective tool for management of Maintenance Human Factors (MHF) issues. This is a behavior modification program for the maintenance personnel in aviation industry. I have conducted workshops for training of facilitators for this program so that this program can be conducted for the entire technical manpower of the organization. The main areas of focus for this Program are Human Performance Limitations, Stress (psychological), Fatigue (physical), Communication, Teamwork and Assertiveness. During this tenure of safety assignments I constantly interacted with various levels of maintenance and management for the purpose of auditing of activities and process involved, the results for which were effectively incorporated in specialized trainings.
