5 EASY STEPS TOWARDS SELF-IMPROVEMENT (2 minute read)
It’s hard to change who we are, how we see things, feel, act or think. However, there would also be some point in our life where we will realize that we need to change something in us and that is not easy.
IMAGINE THE PERSON YOU WANT TO BE - When you finally decided to change for the better, the very first thing that you can do is reflect on your character. Ask yourself who am I right now? And what can I do to improve myself? If you think you are someone who is very negative in life, you can imagine you’re someone who is optimistic, who encourage people, someone who can handle their problems better etc...
LIST SPECIFIC ATTRIBUTES/ACTION THAT WILL HELP YOUR ATTITUDE -Once you have an idea of the person you want to be, make a simple list of the specific things/thoughts you can do towards that goal. (e.g. 1. Collect Happy Thoughts 2. Not everything is a big deal 3.Pride won't get me anywhere) anything that would remind or encourage you to be better. And make sure to write it down for reference and reminder.
REMIND YOUR SELF TO TAKE IT SLOW - Every now and then you will still feel like you have no improvement, you might think you are not going to be someone better than you are now. But take it slow. Remember that self-improvement is not about the outcome it is in the process of doing it.
MAKE IT A HABIT - If you are able to make a slight improvement either in your actions or the way you think, make sure to remember how to act/think that way the next time you faced the same circumstances. Remember how it feels. Before you knew it, you already are a better version of yourself.
RECOGNIZE YOUR IMPROVEMENTS - may it be a small action, something that no one might notice, as long as you know that it is something you wouldn't have done if you were thinking the way you were before, then that deserve a tap on the back. Tell yourself good job! I can do better!
