Shedding off to a better you

Stress, pollution and other life activities are some of the things that can cause acne on the face. Since today’s women are more empowered because of the changing world, they have to level up by doing well whether at work or in school.
Being good is okay, but feeling good inside and out is what a woman should achieve. That is why Maxi-Peel Gandang Career was recently launched at the Glorietta 5 Activity Center.
The event aims to educate people on having a winning personality in order to feel good about themselves. Maxi-Peel Gandang Career is an advocacy of making women feel and be proud of themselves, being confident in spite of the everyday challenges they face and being a Filipina who has a “gandang ka-promote promote.”
This movement also aims to motivate Filipinas to achieve more in their chosen field. We know women are more than able to compete and excel in whatever they want to do today. Host Oprah Winfrey once said, “I like being a woman in a man’s world ‘cause they can’t wear skirts, but we can wear the pants.”
In partnership with Dale Carnegie Training, a global training center for personality development and a consultation company; and People’s Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP), an organization of human resource and management, Splash Corp., makers of Maxi-Peel, came up with the idea of a campaign to challenge women to achieve more and encourage them to be better versions of themselves by letting them acquire a new perspective about beauty and grace with the use of Maxi-Peel products.
In an interview with the Daily Tribune, brand manager Aemie Maranan stated that using Maxi-Peel will not just make your skin fairer, but the product will remove dirt on the skin’s surface, revealing a “newer and smoother skin.” She added, “We want to change people’s perspective about using astringents such as Maxi-Peel. The dead skin will really peel off your face while using the product because it changes the outer layer of the skin while penetrating into the inner layer. You will also experience redness of the face. The Maxi-Peel astringents come with three types and people always mistake it as a one-two-three step. As you can see, the number one is for mild acne problems up while the number three is for severe cases. We want to challege the myth that people always think of upon hearing the word astringent.”
She added that there are a lot of misconceptions about the product and they want to change the view on the face peeling aspect in particular. astringents. That is why they came up with a “Tunay Serye,” starring their ambassador Jeff Serano, who is struggling to be an artista but lacks self-confidence because of acne on her face. She often experiences rejections in auditions.
“Tunay Serye” is a series of video logs from v-blogger Jeff Serrano who records her everyday use of Maxi-Peel and shows people the results of her 60-day challenge. She records herself using the night beauty regimen and shares some tips on taking care of the skin. Also, she shows the proper way of using Maxi-Peel astringent and other products. As her journey progresses, people who follow the “Tunay Serye” will notice changes on Jeff’s face such as the gradual disappearance of acne and blemishes, revealing fairer skin.
“I really want to show people that I am whole and this is me, without backing down. I was losing confidence because of pimples, and I tried a lot of products, but it was no use. But since they introduced Maxi-Peel to me and I began using it as instructed, I’ve gained confidence and told myself that I can be whatever I want to be,” said Serrano.
Personality development experts were also present during the launch to give an overview on how to be a “gandang with confidence” starting off with Ellen Nao from PMAP. “Beauty is not just about the physique that can be seen by our eyes, but we also promote beauty inside and out. Being beautiful shouldn’t be expensive, because I can see that women nowadays really make an effort to make themselves presentable. Kasi sabi nga nila, if you look good, you’ll feel good,” she stated.
Eleanor Pazon from Dale Carnegie Training shared tips on how to visualize your “Gandang Career.” She said, one should have a vision of one’s dreams and that one should claim it. In her lecture, she mentioned some well-known personalities who failed at first but didn’t stop. In the end they achieved their dreams. These persons including Tony Tan Caktiong, founder of Jollibee Food Corp.; Pia Wurtzbach, Miss Universe 2015; Mariano Que, founder of Mercury Drug Store; and Maria Soccoro Cancio, the lady behind National Bookstore. All of them struggled to reach their goals despite experiencing obstacles during the early years.
“Let’s start with a vision. We start the vision with present tense, and you do not say, ‘I will, I shall,’ instead you say, ‘I am!’ Then the use of powerful language. Don’t say, ‘Hopefully, I’ll try,’ because they are not powerful words. You have to say, ‘I am and this is what I want.’ Lastly, you have to think of positive images. Ikarir mo ang iyong vision, para ikaw ay magmukhang ka-promote promote at magkaroon ng Gandang Career,” she stated.
Dra. Joan Dulfo, a skin expert, said that “the first thing people will notice is your face so first, we should take care of it. Eat healthy foods and do not pop your pimples for it will leave scars and dark spots on your face.”
She added that with proper use of Maxi-Peel products, a user can see changes in skin appearance. Maxi-Peel comes with an exfoliant solution, facial toner, day and night cream, exfoliant cream, concealing cream and a soap. They are safe for all skin types, and with proper and careful use results can be seen upon using it.
To sum it up, having a good time should be a part of our job because all work and no play is not a good thing. We should be better than our present selves, and we should be able to present ourselves properly to the people around us. The road to success will never be easy. We should choose the right words to say, do the right things and choose the right company to be with for us to be able to achieve our goals. We market ourselves to people, and we should always make a good impression, starting with our face. Because it is the first thing a person notices, we should always put a smile on our face and show our personality. We should dress properly and act like a winner everyday. Because if you are feeling good about yourself, then people will reciprocate. That’s when you become a “gandang ka-promote promote,” inspiring and bringing sunshine around you.
