I HAVE A MESSAGE FOR YOU - How to Change the Course of
Your Impact, For Better
We can all agree that the world, today, has grown to become a big space for impact regardless of your
age, sex, race, religion and what is. It goes beyond the borders of countries and spreads even to the
uncontacted race or tribe. From the point of creation, it has been from a form of influence to another.
From an individual to another. Even, from little creations to the bigger ones and from the non-living
to the living. That's the circle of impact. This, the process of impacting - in the little way, does not just
become the greatest but also a sign of substance and relevance.
That is big to deal with but breaking into fractions, we all have a go.
However, it can be done in various ways but majorly two. Offline and Online.
Offline, we've seen ways of it being done; at work, social gathering, school among others. They are
things we see all around, acknowledge, support and give accolades to.
Let's discuss the online space; of the big parts of the fractions.
We cannot deny the level of influence of certain individuals on the public through online platforms.
This can be ascribed to their contents as judged by the public which a part are followers. It is great
seeing that.
On the other hand - for an individual who is working up his/her impact, it can be frustrating when
you put up a valuable content and you get little to no number of followers engaging with your content
despite the quality of your content and the numbers on your friends' list. Especially with this
generation of blowing own trumpet where you see how others are ploughing but you seem not to
despite having the tools and skills.
It can be seriously chokey.
Though, that should not be a benchmark to how much progress you are making. I remember
correcting this sort of notion in my previous post.
But, how can you rectify this?
While your online platforms are for connecting and making impact, perhaps you are doing it wrongly.
I will explain but before that, I need you to answer about two questions.
- Have you been through your network (friends' list) checking to ascertain that you have a personal
connection with everyone on that list?
- Have you checked if those on the list are for the same purpose or a representation of another purpose
you pursue?
In between those two questions are other questions you will ask and answer correctly, yourself. But
the baseline is that if you are not connecting with the right set of individuals, there are high chances
that you are making zero impact because you are sending the right message to the wrong audience.
What to do?
The solution is as simple as clicking but it can come with a little mental stress. You may not want to do
it but if truly you have in mind what impact you need to make, you will consider doing it a simple task
and a step towards achieving the course.
Take a timeout to weed out those you deem not fit to be on your friends' list even if it will mean you
cutting down about 3000+ friends to about 800+. The 800+ persons will be better because you will
know you have an audience. Also, get engaged in groups that will further advance your course. Do not
be among the parasites. Rather, be a part of the movement creating waves. More so, learn to make use
of the right medium. I mean understand which platforms will support your course the best. Which
can be the last, network with people that can aid your course.
I believe by now, you have achieved a milestone towards the course of making impact.
