Why choose organic, toxin-free products?
We are all obsessed with beauty products. Who doesn’t love the glow of a bronzer or those luscious, dramatic eyes with just a coat of mascara! But do you know what is used in your everyday beauty products? Do we read the labels and even if we do, do we really understand the tricky ingredients in these products? Sadly, no.
Beauty products are loaded with complex ingredients and harsh chemicals that we are unaware of thanks to poor regulations and standards. Hence, worldwide we are seeing a trend of people moving towards cleaner and natural products.
Conventional beauty products:
Our skin is living tissue, the largest organ of the body but most of us probably tend to forget that. It absorbs oxygen and water and acts as our first line of defense from germs, bacteria, and everything bad in the environment. But what happens when you apply products loaded with toxin ingredients and chemicals on your skin? Your skin simply does its job and absorbs these products and sends it straight into the bloodstream!
That sounds scary, doesn’t it? And yes, you should be scared because these chemicals can cause skin irritations, allergic reactions, and in the long run even cause hormonal imbalance, cancer, and cell mutations.
Two of the most commonly used ingredients in conventional beauty products are parabens and phthalates. But multiple studies confirm that parabens mimic the hormone estrogen in the human body and cause hormone-related cancers, thyroid disruption, gestational diabetes, and even early-onset puberty in girls, while phthalates can lead to reduced sperm count, type-II diabetes, infertility, and breast cancer.
Refined petroleum that is found in most of our beloved lip balms and face creams was considered the largest contaminant to be present in the human body by a 2011 study. Similarly, there are many such ingredients and their subsequent side effects in the long run.
To help you out we made a list of some ingredients that you need to keep an eye out for and avoid!
1. Parabens
2. Fragrances
3. Aluminum compounds
4. Formaldehyde
5. Refined petroleum
6. Hydroquinone
7. Triclosan
8. Silica
9. Oxybenzone
10. Ethoxylated agents
So, does this mean you need to forget about your skincare routines, makeups, and shampoos? Thankfully no! All you need to do is choose organic, toxin-free, and natural products over conventional/commercial beauty products.
Why choose organic, toxin-free products?
There are several reasons why you should choose organic and toxin-free products, but for me personally, the 3 major reasons are:
1. All-natural, readable, and clean ingredients
2. Cruelty-free
3. Eco friendly
All-natural, readable and clean ingredients:
Organic and toxin-free products are free from harsh chemicals and are formulated with 100% all-natural and toxin-free ingredients. This is what makes them special!
Unlike your conventional beauty products, organic products don’t have silicones and petroleum byproducts that temporarily mask aging by filling wrinkles or chemicals that make your skin feel super smooth instantly, instead, they help heal the skin naturally and make it healthy. And we all know that the key to glowing, beautiful, and youthful skin is just simply healthy skin.
Organic, toxin-free products are just perfect for sensitive skin as well, as the nutrient-dense ingredients help reduce skin irritation and also help calm skin conditions like eczema, itchy/flaky skin, and more.
In fact, toxin-free products are an important step in moving towards improving your life and wellbeing. By saying no to unknown and tricky ingredients, you are protecting your skin and body from a host of long-term health implications.
Cruelty-free:
Most of the toxin-free brands are cruelty-free as well, which means they are not tested on animals, unlike conventional beauty products.
Eco friendly:
Lastly, if you are a natural and environmental lover like me then organic is just what you need. When you choose organic products, you are automatically minimizing the impact on the environment as no toxin chemicals are washed being down the drain or lying in a landfill. This will help restore our water supply resources and ecosystem. Additionally, the more and more organic industry is moving towards environment-friendly packaging. And these smaller steps are what matter!
We surely want to leave behind a cleaner and safer planet for our kids and future generations.
