Introduction:
T he urban design process includes several stages. After completing the process of analysis
the region, we have a comprehensive idea about the nature of the region, its strength,
weakness and resources that can be exploited needs and others, by taking advantage of
the precedent that will be moved to the next stage, which is the process of forming the
basic basic concept of the region.
In this report, the stages of the process that are followed by arriving at a comprehensive
basic idea for the design of the region will be presented, this process begins with setting a
basic vision for the region and the goals it achieves, followed by the following stages: the
streets with their types and characteristics, plots of land, buildings with different
characteristics, open spaces, the green element in City.
Vision:
Residential area characterized by smart growth, sustainable, green, vibrant, safe and
attractive neighborhoods with different densities linked together by pedestrianized streets
that connect them to public places and services.
Objectives:
Exploiting the site and topography in the area to include residential densities, thus
preserving the natural scenes overlooking the buildings.
Ensure that all social groups can live in the area:
Through the availability of plots of different sizes, and ensuring their ability to easy access to
services, and different ways Mobility.
Meeting the needs of the workforce to maintain economic development maintaining
affordable housing.
Encourage and increase social cohesion
Providing distributed services and public facilities to enable them to be reached on foot
Increase the variety of vegetation.
Enforce special provisions aimed at planting various trees around buildings and on the
streets.
• Sustainable mobility mainly dependent on walking and bicycles
By improving and designing pedestrian and bicycle-ready streets, you can access distributed
services and public facilities on those streets to encourage their use.
Increased use of public transport
Through the distribution of medium and low density housing near public transport and the
provision of an active environment.
High quality buildings
To ensure that they are directed and positioned in a manner that ensures air and sun
access to them, choose good building materials, a portion of the facades can be used in a
specific color or materials, maintaining a green and healthy appearance around the
building
"The general idea of the region is distinguished by being a green area, which brings together
the different classes, preserves social communication between the residents and maintains
their health by encouraging walking and distributing services over studied distances. Initially,
the principle of grading building densities was adopted from high to low, thus providing a
balanced and varied area in the building and in the spaces formed there, public parks were
distributed so that they combine different densities, these densities are connected to prepared
streets distributed throughout the region that reach public parks, were Distribution of
buildings with mixed use (residential, commercial) on the main street prepared for the
pedestrians so that they are close to the public parks and thus encourage the residents to
move on foot to reach services and entertainment areas. Of liaison between it and the
surrounding areas, and was placed line transportation distributor in the region to provide
general mobility."

Street network, pedestrian paths and public transportation:
After noticing the contour lines in the area and linking them with the proposed and
existing streets, work was done to produce a map of the new streets in the area that will
be adopted in the design process for them. The proposed streets were utilized, most of
them were baptized, and the other improved, so that they are compatible with contour
lines to achieve the goal that encourages walking. The importance of each street was
taken into consideration and what served each of them until a complete basic map of the
streets was formed.
The formation of this map went through several stages of
development:
1- Determine the existing streets with their classifications.
2- Defining and proposing the main internal street of the area, on which most services
are distributed, and therefore its importance is high.
3- Defining the internal sub-streets proposal
4- Determine semi-finished streets that will form an entrance and space for a group of
buildings.
After that they were grouped together on one map. Then it was done
5- Opening and proposing pedestrianized streets and choosing a main street for them.
6- Distributing waiting stations for public transportation and forming a line for public
transportation, with the importance of distributing it to serve the entire population in the
region.

Blocks and Plots:
After proposing different new streets in the region, and after looking at the analysis of
objects and proposed plots of land and analyzing them in terms of their areas, large body
spaces of more than 20 acres were observed, and plots of land that were mostly large area.
The area will be divided into different bodies and plots of smaller areas it was previously
proposed to ensure that the street reached all the pieces. The plots of land are divided in
specific proportions that allow the construction of buildings and individual houses in
different areas and vary according to the type of building density in the region.
Subsequently :
Forming plots of land with different areas to maintain the balance of the densities and the
diversity of classes in the region.
- The principle of dividing objects and plots of land has been adopted so that a semi-general
vacuum is formed between a group of different buildings
Buildings:
After dividing the new plots, it will proceed to design the buildings with their characteristics.
The beginning of going back to analyzing the region’s climate, the movement of the sun,
and Orientation buildings to the nearest public open space, to guarantee the interaction
with it. The principle of graduation in buildings, taking into account contour lines and the
entry of the sun and air in a healthy way, Make semi private open spaces from lateral and

Open space and green structure:
Designing residential neighborhood parks as a recreational stop for residents of these
areas to embrace children and their families in a safe, comfortable and ideal environment
for social gatherings and acquaintance. Where the region contains a group of gardens
distributed in residential neighborhoods, which usually mediates the neighborhood in
which they are located, the garden area ranges between 0.5 - 2 hectares (hectare =
10,000 square meters), and is designed in a manner that depends on the beauty of nature
and is characterized by simplicity.
The increased vegetation in the area undoubtedly contributes to the renewal of air and
the absorption of pollutants, and this was done in our region by designing a roof garden.
Public spaces in residential neighborhoods, pedestrianized roads and green roofs, and
prohibiting the construction of fences around buildings and replacing them with
appropriate trees, and obliging building owners to cover fences with trees, all of this
would achieve a sustainable environment by strengthening social relations and reducing
carbon dioxide.
Odintsoyo 2020 Eco- City
Proposal
Architects: de Architekten Cie.
Location: Odintsovo, Russia
Project year :2012
-
Odintsovo integrates dispersed
urban fragments and the landscape
into a harmonious whole.
-
The scale of the city is formatted on
a human scale.
-
The surroundings of Odintsovo are
characterized by a rich and beautiful
network of water bodies and
natural green penetrating the city.
Both green and water are used and
enjoyed by the people of Odintsovo.
Several instruments play a key role in the regeneration of
Odintsovo:
1. Connecting points: a network of green boulevards,
pedestrian paths and iconic public spaces
2. .Framing space: defining urban rooms
3. .Creating diversity
Terrace Blocks.
The block typology establishes
a hierarchy of outdoor spaces
which interact and work
together: Outside the block:
Public Space
.Combining public space with
infrastructure, circulation,
commercial functions and
housing, provides a selfmonitoring environment. This
increases security, encourages
social interaction and fosters a
sense of community at
neighborhood level.
Communal Space :focused
within the courtyards of the
blocks and shared among
residents
This space is not freely
accessible for the public.
The communal space is
self-monitored by the
residents and fosters a
smaller community at block
level. Private Space ' Every
apartment has a private
outside space.
-Encouraging social relations,
and contributing to the
interaction between all
elements (people, buildings,
public places).
-Furthermore the ground
bound units within each block
have a small outdoor space or
front yard.
The buildings structural grid
allows multiple unit
configurations to exist.
Therefore the block can be
formed entirely of small
studio units, larger
apartments or a mixture of
sizes, offering immense
flexibility in the plan.
- To create a rich, divers, lively project,
'sustainable.
- Use of sustainable materials to
buildings and spaces that are so
flexible they can adapt to various
forms of use and function.
