WITH THIS IN MIND, from here on out, let- be Year 1 of the Humannaires Initiative. We begin by acknowledging your quarantine achievements as your very first year of space mission training, training to be one the first humans ready to bring humankind to space as one the next generation of space explorers from Planet Earth, the Humannaires. Every student around the world is now officially a Humannaire-in-training, a future resident of space whose purpose is to work to make life on Earth as sustainable, desirable, equitable, and wonderful as humanly possible — for all its residents and our co-inhabitants. In order to foster the future we want for our world, you now have permission to imagine yourself living, working, and playing in space. It is with this permission, you get to declare the future to be a space future and humankind to be a spacekind. We can solve all the challenges we face on Earth–including the illusion of scarcity–by solving for space. This is the Humannaires Initiative. In the words of Astronaut-Teacher Christa McAuliffe, "Space is for everybody!" Therefore, to catalyze the future we want and a future worth having, let it now be known: Space is for you, Humannaire.
