PROJECT TITLE: Exploring the Photographic Journey: A Qualitative Diary Study of Photography Students
PROJECT OVERVIEW:
This qualitative market research study aims to gain deep insights into the experiences, challenges, and creative processes of photography students as they navigate their educational journey. The research will be conducted through a diary study approach, involving the active participation of photography students who will document their thoughts, experiences, and reflections related to their coursework, projects, and overall learning experiences over a specified period.
Research Objectives:
1. To understand the motivations, goals, and aspirations of photography students.
2. To explore the challenges and obstacles faced by photography students during their educational journey.
3. To identify the most effective learning methods and resources utilized by photography students.
4. To gain insights into the creative processes and inspirations that drive photography students' work.
5. To uncover potential gaps in the education and support provided to photography students.
METHODOLOGY:
1. Participant Recruitment: Participants will be recruited from photography programs at various educational institutions of 4 countries- Undergraduates between the ages of 18-26 years old
2. Diary Study: Participants will be provided with digital diaries or journals to document their experiences. They will be encouraged to make regular entries, capturing their thoughts, challenges, triumphs, and creative processes.
3. Semi-Structured Interviews: To supplement the diary entries, participants will be invited to participate in semi-structured interviews at the beginning and end of the study. These interviews will provide an opportunity to delve deeper into their diary entries and clarify any points of interest.
4. Ethical Considerations: Participants' confidentiality and privacy will be maintained. Informed consent will be obtained via the use of NDAs, and any sensitive information shared will be anonymized.
Expected Deliverables:
1. Comprehensive report detailing the research process, findings, and insights.
2. Presentation of findings with key insights, visuals, and quotes to stakeholders.
