Sandra is 67 years old. She raised four kids in this city, worked 30 years as a school aide, and never once asked for help.
Until last December.
After a medical emergency wiped out her savings, Sandra came to our pantry for the first time. She almost didn't walk in.
"I sat in my car for 20 minutes," she told us. "But then I thought โ I have grandkids coming for Christmas. I have to try."
Today, Sandra is one of our most beloved weekly volunteers.
