Polk BOOM Swimmer Duo Review from a music enthusiast As someone who cannot live without music, finding the ideal speakers for me is a real challenge. For me, the material should be based on these factors; price, performance, and portability. I would usually drop by some stores featuring prominent brands that were promising all of the aforementioned issues. In most cases, however, the promised quality of these leading brands fails to live up to my standards. And even if they did, I would end up digging really deep into my pockets and cost me a lot. It was a couple of weeks ago when a friend of mine referred a brand not familiar with me at the time, Polk. Since my buddy knows me all too well, he particularly told me to give the Swimmer Duo a test run. The wireless bluetooth speakers, he believes, will be a perfect fit to my personalities and needs. So, upon hearing his recommendations, I gladly gave it a shot. What stood out for me the first time I tried the Polk BOOM Swimmer Duo was how easy it is to set the device up. As soon as my smartphone was paired, I immediately noticed how good the playback quality is. The songs on my Spotify playlist streamed loud and clear all over my room. It doesn’t have that broken sound when you turn the volume at its highest. I then paired the Polk BOOM Swimmer Duo to my Smart TV since I wanted to try how the audio playback would go on my midrange-priced television set. To my surprise, it worked just as fine as it did with my smartphone. Amazed by how good the Polk wireless speakers are, I decided to bring it at work where thankfully, our management allows us to play music (as I said earlier, I rely on music for just about everything, including at work since it gets my creative juice going). While I was casually playing some songs using Polk, my workmates couldn’t help but notice how good the playback was. I smile and nod in agreement with them whenever they complement my device. Lastly, and I think this is the most important part, I decided to give the Polk BOOM Swimmer Duo a test run on my favorite getaway place during the weekend, the beach. It always worries me whenever I bring a wireless bluetooth speaker to the sands for fear of destroying my device. Unfortunately, this has been the case most of the time so I’m very cautious on how the Polk BOOM Swimmer Duo would do under these circumstances. With these in mind, I carefully set the speakers up as I did my usual preparations upon arriving at the beach. I reluctantly placed it at the sands (where it fit just nicely due to its base), turned it on, and thankfully, it worked just fine. After breathing a sigh of relief, I happily went to the waters as my wireless bluetooth speakers blared out my favorite songs as I enjoyed swimming. Another concern popped into my head when I was heading back to the shores soaked in beach water, and it was the realization that my wireless bluetooth speakers were prone to destruction because of water. I carefully adjusted the volume while skipping through tracks and once again, Polk BOOM Swimmer Duo proved me wrong for doubting its durability. Wonderful music played on until I was done with my beach affair. I must say that the Polk BOOM Swimmer Duo is one of those excellent finds; giving you great quality in terms of performance without spending a whole lot. I loved it so much that I immediately bought my own blue unit to match my favorite color. Haha. The Polk BOOM Swimmer Duo is definitely a must-have for your wireless speaker needs!
