OVERVIEW
What is Bread and Butter
Academy?
Bread and Butter Academy is a workshop under the
Bread and Butter Company. “Bread and Butter” is a
term used for our daily expenses, that is why we
adopted this name. It aims to offer PWDs job
opportunities in baking, along with the opportunity to
start their own baking business through workshop
training and mentorship.

Our mission is to train PWDs to bake
nourishing, locally sourced pastries
and goods that is both accessible and
affordable to our community,
bringing in authentic Filipino pastries
through the hands of PWDs by their
own business or through the
bakeshop so that more people can
see their capabilities and support
their advocacy for a more inclusive
society.

Our baking workshop
would cost 6000 pesos with
20 sessions. After
completing it, they can
apply for the basic
entrepreneurship workshop
which costs 4000 pesos,
having a number of 20
sessions too. The total for

TAM
Bread & Butter’s Total Available Market (TAM) would
consist of the total PWDs in the Philippines, of which there
are over 1.6 million.
SAM
Bread & Butters’ Serviceable Available Market (SAM) would be
the total number of PWDs in NCR.The population of NCR is
13,484,462, which is 12.37% of the whole population. Therefore
the number of PWDs in NCR is roughly 129,345 people
SOM
Bread & Butter’s Serviceable Obtainable Market (SOM) is the total
number of PWDs with Down Syndrome in NCR that are aged 17 and
above who are interested in baking and starting a business.
According to the Department of Foreign Affairs (2018), it is
estimated that 1 in 800 or 1,875 babies are born with Down
Syndrome every year. Therefore, the estimated SOM is 16,855.

SALES GOAL by 2022
Our baking workshop would cost 6000 pesos with 20 sessions. After completing
it, they can apply for the basic entrepreneurship workshop which costs 4000

Given that our Target Sales is 275 enrollees and the cost of our workshop is
10,000 php, our sales goal will be: ₱2,750,000 by the end of the year
Future Plans
Create more programs wherein PWDs can choose
what department they want to learn more about
Bread and Butter plans to expand to other
urban areas in Metro Manila.

Artisanal and rolled ice cream
is uniquely offered at Elait,
where most of their
employees are Deaf. They also
conduct workshops for the
public to learn basic sign
language so it’s easier to
strike up a conversation and
make friends with our Deaf
companions.
DUNAMAI CAFE
The Grain Foundation for PWD Inc.
(GFPI) offers vocational training to
PWDs and poor families to provide
some much-needed work
experience. They also help
incorporate the graduates of the
course to different social
enterprises, one of which is the
Dunamai Cafe, where your PWD
baristas are just as well-trained as
any other.
