Attaining inner peace
Attaining Inner Peace and Balance in Daily life
Like most people, we often live our lives troubled and in distress failing to understand that inner peace is a choice. We even tend to think that inner peace can only be attained by saints and monks or leading a secluded life.
Well, this is not true. One of the smartest men quoted that “Peace of mind is not the absence of conflict from life, but the ability to cope with it”
So, what is inner peace?
Inner peace which can also be called peace of mind refers to an intentional condition of psychological or spiritual calm regardless the potential presence of stressors. Being at peace with yourself and everything around you is considered a healthy way of life
Inner peace and balance in daily life has always been considered by most traditions to be a condition of enlightenment that can be generated by various forms of training which include, prayers, tai chi, yoga and meditation.
Anyone can also achieve inner peace and balance through acceptance and simply letting go. They are one of the most useful and important tools for everyone in their daily lives. But this doesn’t mean everyone has attained inner peace.
But before we tackle the ways of attaining inner peace let me ask you
Do you shout, get angry or unhappy with your children, spouse, friends or coworkers?
Do you get distracted by external events and then start thinking about them?
Do you react when a driver suddenly enters into the lane in front of you on the highway?
Do you regretted about your actions or reactions?
Do you react, when someone behaves impolitely toward you?
Do you spend a lot of time thinking about problems, or things said to you?
And lastly, how does any of these situations make you feel?
Incase most of the above questions are true about your life, then that might mean your lacking inner peace and balance in your life.
What to Do To Gain Inner Peace and Balance
Be content: try and find contentment wherever you are, who you are and what you’re doing. Being at peace with your state of life as it is will help you channel your inner peace
Be responsible: try and correct your errors as soon as possible because this will relieve your mind. You should know everyone makes mistakes, but to feel at peace you should admit when you’re wrong
Be patient: you should keep in mind that inner peace develops over time and along the way fluctuations may occur. So we should be patient enough and stay resilient.
Meditation: meditation is the special method of familiarizing our minds with positivity, because the more our minds are familiar with positivity, the more calm and peaceful they become. A peaceful mind free from stress and discomfort leads to more happiness.
