This article is about Mobile Legends
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has been one of the most played mobile games lately. It’s decision to adopt
a 5v5 Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) with practically the same gameplay as a number of
popular MOBA games, including DOTA 2 and League of Legends, has made this game very familiar to
hard fans of those games. No wonder that this mobile game has gained a massive popularity over the
past few years now that more than seven million users have already registered themselves to play this
game.
One of the main attractions of this game would be its wide range of main characters, or we call them
‘Hero’, that we could play with. In fact, there are no less than 53 heroes available, which are classified
into several classes including assasin, tank, fighter, mage, marksman, and support. Each class comes
with each own unique skills set and role in the game.
Given the fact that Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is the only game developed by its developer, Moonton,
it’s not surprising to see the team giving them all to perfect this game. This has led to the game’s
excellent gameplay and graphic which draw new gamers and pamper current users even more, allowing
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang to become one of the most popular mobile games on the planet today.
Overview of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is a mobile game developed by Moonton, a Chinese mobile game developer.
This game adopts the MOBA gameplay which is also adopted by a number of popular games like DOTA 2.
It was released back on July 11, 2016 for Chinese server and November 9, 2016 for global server.
Interestingly, Moonton purchased the Mobile Legends’ game engine license from Tencent, which also
owns the right of several others popular games like League of Legends, Arena of Valor, and Candy Crush.
This is why we may get the feeling of playing Arena of Valor while actually playing Mobile Legends: Bang
Bang, as both games are built on the same engine.
When being released on July 11, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang was first available for Android. It was in its
global launch that the game was made available for iOS as well. This is an interesting move by Moonton,
considering that some games like Clash of Clans lauched its iOS version first prior being made available
on Android.
There are a number of key features that help Mobile Legends: Bang Bang gaining its global popularity,
including:
Fixed position - Fixed position is an option that we could find in the game’s movement wheel setup. This
setting option enables the analog to become much less responsive, thus it won’t follow the movement
of our hands even if we keep changing the position of our hands. This is a very useful setting that players
could use as it allows them to focus their character on one direction without having to worry about
getting distracted by unnecessary movement of their hands.
Colorblind mode - This mode is specially designed for those who are with coloblind condition. By
activating this mode, the screen of a player will go a bit greeny or yellowy, which is really helpful for
players who are colorblind. However, many of use may not be aware of this option since there’s only
few of us being identified with colorblind.
Gear building - Many of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang players would only build their gears while bein in
the lobby or within the preparation menu. There are only few players who realize that they could
actually build their gears during the equipment scheme as well. Through this option, we are shown that
there are three slots for gear building instead of only one, which significantly simplify our job when
building our items during battles.
We could access this equipment scheme setting through the shop menu, where we could find the
equipment shop sub-menu on the bottom left corner of the screen. From there, we could build our gear
up to three slots so make sure that we really understand which gear that we want to use during the
battle. This would make it easier for us to have instant access in activating the gears without having to
bother reading the description of each gear.
Statistics profile - The profile of our hero is not only visible when we are at the lobby or during battles,
but also when we are in the middle of the gameplay as well. We could regularly check our hero’s profile
to find out the effects of any item that we equip to our hero, which will be evidenced by any change to
the hero’s statistics.
In other words, this menu allows us to regularly check the current condition of our hero’s HP, mana
regen, mana, and other statistics during gameplay. Each statistic may change differently in accordance
with the type of items equipped to the hero.
Start Playing
After getting to know better about Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, the next section of this article is going to
discuss about a brief tutorial on how to play this popular game from the very beginning. When first
signing up to the game, we would be required to complete a series of tutorial provided by the developer
of the game. We cannot skip this tutorial as a new user, so we need to get prepared to enjoy every guide
and instruction that is given during this mode.
After completing the tutorial mode, we will be brought into our own profile menu. In this menu, we
could see everything about our account, including our rank and the current table, hero, available skin,
emblems, and achievements. There is also a section called Favourite in which we could see the list of
heroes we play with the most.
The second menu that you can access from the main screen is the shop menu. This menu is located right
below the profile menu. In this shop menu, you could do various transactions, including purchasing new
heroes and new skins. You could also take a look at the list of recommended items in this menu. An
interesting feature of this menu would be the lucky spin feature, in which you could test your fortune in
order to win the pre-determined hero or skin.
Just below the shop menu, we could find the event menu. In this menu, we could find the details about
current running events in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. We could participate in the running events and
win prizes for the completion of each event. In this menu, we could also check the current top teams in
the game.
In live stream menu, we could watch professional gamers playing live through streaming their battles.
Interestingly, we could look for specific heroes within the streaming channels so that we could
effectively learn about how to use specific heroes in a battle.
The next menu would be tournament. This this menu, you could check the current available
tournaments which you could take part in. You could get the detailed information about each
tournament in this tournament menu. You could also guess the winner of certain match to win some
guess coins.
These coins are one of three currencies that we can find in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. These coins
could be used to purchase a number of items, including pre-determined heroes and skins. The list of
available rewards that could be redeemed using these coins could be found in the Reward Redemption
tab. Some of these rewards include Small Horn, Double Exp Card, Double BP Card, Lucky Emblem, and
Name Change Card. Each of these rewards could be redeemed with different amount of guess points.
Aside from guess coins, there are two other currencies that players could use to purchase items in
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. The first one is diamond. This is the second most significant currency in this
game after battle points. The list of items that could be redeemed using this currency is more extensive
than that of guess points. There are more skins and heroes that could be purchased using this currency
as well.
The second currency, as well as the most significant one, would be the battle points. Using these points,
players could purchase every hero and skin available in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang except Odette. The
more battle points you collect, the better chance for you to play with different heroes throughout the
game.
Considering that this currency is the most significant one which enables you to purchase pretty much
everything in the game, it is important for us to try to collect as many of them as possible. Having said
that, there are several ways that we can follow to collect these points effectively. Here are some of
them:
Using Double BP Cards – a double BP card can double up the amount of battle points that we earn as
prize for our victory. There are several ways to gain this card, including sharing your match to social
media accounts, finding it inside chests, and purchasing it directly at Store using diamonds.
Completing daily tasks – if we manage to reach at least 130 activity points in a day, we are entitled to
230 battle points. This means that in a week we may earn up to 1,610 battle points. When we reach 800
activity points in a week, we are even entitled to 500 more battle points.
Selling Hero Trial Card and Skin Card – doing this activity will not give us as many battle points as the
other options, but it’s still worth a try, especially if we already collect too many cards. The amount of
battle points that we could earn depends on the duration of each card; 1 one day-trial card could give us
30 battle points, while 90 battle points are rewarded for every 3 days-trial card and 210 battle points for
every 7 days-trial card.
After learning about the details of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, it’s time to test our skills and knowledge
over this game. We could start playing the game by downloading it from either App Store or Google Play
Store.
