Study Plan for Foreign University Student
Study Proposal
Seeking knowledge beyond horizons has always been my strong passion. I hereby assert my alacrity and firm resolve to undertake a Master degree program in the China Yangtze University in order to further elevate my education and discover the new perspectives in the realm of Geological sciences.
Coming from a very simple yet most riveting terrain of Azad Kashmir here in Pakistan steering to the deep highlands of Gilgit Baltistan bordering China, I’ve been fortunate enough to witness the rich tradition and an illustrious academic backdrop. After accomplishing on high credits my matriculation and intermediate studies from HITEC Taxila and successfully earned my BS degree in Geology from University of AJK, I aspire to make my transition into the ultimate tier of scholastic excellence in the discipline of Geology.
Statement of Long Term Goals:
I’m aiming to eventually find new depths in the ambit of Geology by further widening my research and afterwards the robust application of what I’ve learned over the course of my study in China. I’d work towards achieving the more profound exploration of existing and new geological resources in my professional career. I have opted to take part in master’s Degree in Geology, my areas of leaning are petrology, Geotechnical Engineering, mineralogy, Geophysics, Hydrology, especially in Petroleum Geology, Engineering Geology and Geophysics.
Description of Field of Study:
The excellent undergraduate program at the Azad Jammu $ Kashmir University Muzaffarabad, Pakistan. not only provide me with a solid foundation of understanding the basics laws and rules of Geology but also exposed me to various Geology and Geophysics. I have constantly been interested in research related Engineering Geology at Azad Jammu $ Kashmir University Muzaffarabad, Pakistan. This led to an inclination towards deeper Into Geology. I substantiated my knowledge in these areas by choosing graduate level electives in Bachelor of Applied Geology.
I completed my Bachelor of Project “Physical, Mechanical and Petrographic characteristic of Rocks” My bachelor research project mainly focused on understanding nature of rocks or nature of building materials and related to constructions like Dame, Tunneling, Bridge and Road etc.
Working Exposure in the Field of Study:
After graduation I was fortunate enough to work as a joiner Geologist in Neelum Jhelum Hydro Power Project (NJHPP) and Central Designing Office (CDO), Muzaffarabad. I was designated with the tasks, Geological mapping after Drilling and Blasting to classify rock conditions for support work (initial and final), Observation of underground Mining activities according to specifications and to ensure safety of Drilling & Grouting of systematic, Rock Bolts (Dia 25mm, length 4m,5m,7m), Observation of installation of welded wire fabric mesh, reinforced Ribs and Lattice Girder, preform different testing like Soil Testing, Material Testing, Rock Strength Tests and Sieve Analysis etc.
Through my experiences in University have provided me with a solid foundation in my fields of interest, a good graduate program is necessary not only to increase my knowledge in these fields but to module me into a good researcher. I am fully aware of the hard work and preservice required for a successful career in research and I believe that I have the attitude and drive to meet the challenge.
Study Plan in China:
I will pursue may master’s Degree in Geology and Engineering Field that is Geotechnical Engineering from Yangtze University. My study will be focused on May final year projects and field related my past internship com to know the vast practical application of Earth Science and Engineering, this create a path for me to study my chosen course. I want to work in different national and international field related to Geology and Geotechnical Engineering. I would like to gain practically and theoretically knowledge during my study. My study will be focused on wider spectrum of hazards that are being induced by reservoir or damming such as river line and coastal erosion, high saturation causing landslides, on reservoir, aquifer deletion, reservoir induced earthquakes, influences on local weather pattern also focused on Physical, Mechanical and Petrographic characteristic of Rocks they used as a construction material, Mineral identification, underground nature of material, Tectonics ,Structure and Stratigraphy etc. after completion of my master degree I hope to be able to take part in maximizing my country’s in field of Geotechnical Engineering. I hope that this master program will provide me with the chance to get know with Geology and Engineering. I hope that I can gain more experience in dealing with situations, peoples, system and demands which will be create a bright future for me.
Reason to Study in China:
Confucius once said: “There is nothing more real than that which cannot be seen and there is nothing more certain than that which cannot be heard”
And He was right, so how can one ascertain the reality if one is not witnessing that and a truth is always hidden somewhere which you are not hearing.
With China emerging as the next Global leader on the frontiers of economy, trade, culture and education, it is but natural that I’d have my goals to make up to studying in China. With profound history of ancient civilization and a growing spectrum in technological advancement, strategic depth and connectivity across the globe, China presents a hugely conducive environment to the people studying or living there. Also, the China Pakistan Economic Corridor with One belt one road vision afford high expectations and opportunities for Pakistani to nurture their academic and professional career in China and bringing back the expertise to home in Pakistan where I could effectively contribute my bit in the realm of geology and towards the economic boost of the country.
At the end, I’d conclude my discourse and like to thank you for your rare time to consider my submission and I resolutely believe that it will have a convincing impact to bring a positive feedback from your side. And if you require any thing further from my end I’ll be pleased to provide you with.
Thanks,
Nabeel
