STUDY MOTIVES FOR CHOOSING THIS PROGRAM: -
I have chosen the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering program because, I have had an interest
in the technical field since my secondary school, having attended many technical seminars,
workshops and fairs.
I also have studied Mathematics in A Level, which is the admission requirement for this course
by the University.
The Mechanical field in the Engineering Industry, is a very vast field, and has lot of career options
to offer, as a lot of research and development is being done in this sector, such as automobiles
and robotics etc. This made it a very suitable option among the other programs being offered in
the technical field. The contents of the course contain vast range of system dynamic and control,
robotics, machine dynamics and vibration, thermodynamics, computer modeling, modeling and
change etc.
•
REASONS FOR CHOOSING NOT TO STUDY IN MY HOME COUNTRY: -
I had considered options in my home country, but decided not to pursue them, because, they
were severely and the opportunities they offered did not look promising.
The courses offered in my country related to the engineering field, especially in the Mechanical
sector, are severely limited, plus the courses also don’t possess the necessary tools to equip and
individual with the necessary knowledge for the modern industry.
They also don’t offer industrial experience like work placement internships, to gain first
experience about the field. Many of these inadequacies led me to not pursue the options offered
to me in my home country.
•
REASONS FOR CHOOSING THE FEDERATION UNIVERSITY: -
Now to explain my choice of studying my bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at the
Federation University, situated at Mt. Helen, Ballarat, I would like to state one of the most
obvious reasons, that is, the Federation University is one of the most prestigious institutions in
the world, ranking high even among universities in Australia.
It offers a detailed 4- year long course which would include semester wise (8 semesters in total)
study of all the necessary components of the subject, which would include integrating circuits,
robotics, and further more. It would also offer me internships at several renowned industries,
during my later semesters. These experiences and the tools provided by the course offered would
definitely give a boost to my career and open up several opportunities for me back in my home
country and around the globe. Furthermore, the course is completely suited and well equipped
according to the needs of the modern engineer.
I had researched other universities in Australia including CQU, and the University of Queensland
in Brisbane. But the fee structures and the course being offered didn’t suit my needs. The
Federation University offers my desired course along with a fee structure that suits me. The
annual fee at 29,200$ AUD is within my financial capabilities. The course also includes a 2-year
work placement learning experience which could provide up to a 15,000$ AUD study scholarship.
The detailed course outline includes the layout of the components which would be covered
semester wise in the 4-year course, during 8 semesters in total. The semesters would be covered
2 per year, with 4 components in each semester. There would be several key components being
covered in the course such as modelling, design and drafting, computer modelling and
mechanics, which became one of the key reasons for my choice.

REASONS FOR CHOOSING AUSTRALIA AS A STUDY DESTINATION: -
Australia became my study destination after I researched for study options both in my own my
own country. I have already highlighted my reasons for why my home country is not a preferred
destination.
Other than my home country, I had researched for options in Europe, specifically in Germany. I
had looked into different universities including the SRH institute and the International University
of applied sciences. But the reason why I didn’t decide to study there, was the issues that I faced
regarding accommodations, and the language barrier as the desired courses were offered in
German language.
Seeing all this, Australia was the first place that came into my mind as I had already read about
the student life there. The welcoming environment, the easily adaptable surroundings, the
perfect climate were already appealing, but being offered my course in English language , without
any language barriers, at such an affordable cost, became the reason for me choosing Australia.
Along with that, I have one of my family members living in Australia, Brisbane, to be exact. He is
my paternal uncle. His name is Rashid Siddiqui, and he has been living there with his family since
2017 on a visa subclass 189, as I mentioned earlier. This also makes Australia more suitable and
accommodating.
•
EDUCATION OUTCOME AND MY FUTURE PLANS: -
After the completion of my proposed study program, from The Federation University, and
acquiring a specialization in the same field, I believe I will be able to get into sectors like research
and of upcoming technology, automobile design and manufacturing and industrial machinery
manufacturing. I will be able to add inputs to modern engineering solutions and will be able to
provide consultation to the government and many corporate organizations. Through your fine
institution, , I believe I will be able to find the best career opportunities.
I am confident that after the completion of my studies from Australia, I will meet the standards
of academic objectivity which are required in the current competitive technical industry.
Expected salary packages range from 1.5-2.5 Lakh PKR, per month as I have observed those who
have reputable foreign education, are quickly grabbed by many multinational and local
organizations. By name I recall only a few such as Toyota Motors, Honda Atlas motors,
Department of Science and Technology and the Aviation industry is also in mind.
These are some of many opportunities that will be available to me in my home country, and not
to mention numerous other opportunities in any other part of the world. But I will prefer to
return home, as I have my family there, so it will be easier for me in my home country as there
promising career opportunities along with me being able to stay with my family.
In conclusion, acquiring skills and knowledge in mechanical engineering sector, from a developed
country like Australia, in my view, would not only be extremely useful, but also personally
rewarding for a young individual like me. It is an interesting part of study that I will be able to add
to my future work back home. I am confident that I am well equipped to take the challenges
head-on which are associated with studying at a reputable institution like The Federation
University, Australia, and I have complete faith and determination for achieving my objectives
and completing my studies successfully. It would be an honor for me to be able to complete my
higher education in Australia.
I am confident that with the prominent faculty, combined with the world class study facilities and
state of the art, practical learning experiences, will give me place boost to show my worth in the
current advanced and competitive technical world. I look forward to bright and rewarding future.
I will be aiming to turn my intention and my interests into solid skills, and will not just load up the
theoretical knowledge, but also acquire the practical aspect behind it.
Namely some of the skills that I would acquire from this program would be innate knowledge of
robotics, along with theoretical and practical study of computer programming and modelling.
Designing and crafting, along with the usage of the matrix, with learning about fluid dynamics,
would not only make me well equipped to be a part of the technical industry, but other industries
as well, because all industries are experiencing modernization and computer based components
are becoming wide spread, giving me plenty of options and a making me a wanted individual. The
work placement will provide me with plenty of hands on experiencing of working in a state-ofart facility, making me more adaptable to a work environment. This will also allow me to work in
teams, and give me opportunity to learn teamwork, which is invaluable in today’s world.
I believe having these skills is key to being an integral cog in the giant machine we call the
“Technical Industry’.
