The article is taken as itidentifies post-divorce cooperating profiles in terms of parenting practice, levels of parents’ well-being and children’s psychological issues. Cluster analysis was carried out and co-parenting relationship was assessed in domains like- exposure to conflict, division of labour, agreement and undermining/support. The study concluded that the children belonging to cooperative coparenting group presented greater levels of positive family working and reduced internalizing and externalizing issues. The article explains that parental coordination and alliance even after separation may act as the protective factor for both individual and family outcomes, thereby, highlighting the fact that 50-50 child custody is better for psychological development.

The article was taken as it defines that greater parental control and support directly influences wellbeing of children. Post-divorce parenting is intricate in families with non-residential fathers, married fathers, fathers in joint custody. The dimension of parenting for father and mother directly influences the self-esteem of the children. However, non-residential fathers were found to be less controlling and supportive as compared to the fathers in married families or with joint custody. The study highlights that supportive father was always beneficial for the self-esteem of the children. Further, it was explained that fathers are potentially capable of enhancing self-esteem of the children even after divorce and therefore, role of both the parents becomes imperative in developing normal psychology of the child and in preventing negative psychological development.
